We stayed in Hico for our 40th Anniversary and picked Hico so we could park and walk and be in a small town with excellent restaurants and shops. Good Choice for sure. The Upstairs Inn is definitely a 5-Star place to stay from being beautiful and comfortable. The owners pay attention to little details and make the stay so worth the drive. Highly recommended!!

Easy to book, owners communicated promptly through text and email. Check-in smartly executed. Lovely space, fantastic conversion of a historic property with 12 foot ceilings, beautiful shared spaces, luxuriant king bed and cleanly recently renovated bath with old-world wood vanity and mirror accents. No better place to stay in Hico.

This is the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. The road noise is amplified by the windows, the old wood plank floor makes you well aware there's other people present. The whole place shakes like an earthquake every time someone walks down the hallway. The restaurant downstairs echoes up through the floors. The room has 3 doors that barely latch and let a ton of noise come through. The rooms that border the common area might as well be in the middle of a college frat party. Might as well not even have doors on the rooms. Then there's the random pops the building makes the makes pieces of the ceiling fall on you while you're laying in bed. It looks cool and it's really rustic and old school. This building seems to be 100+ years old. The wood planks on the floors can be a little iffy. One moves about 3 inches every time you step on it. Still like trying to sleep in the mosh pit of a rock concert. Kinda pricey as well. Going ahead and changing this to 1 star since we have a mouse in our room....

We were in town for a wedding, and we’re not expecting such a great place to stay. This Inn was extremely charming and served our needs. The rooms are spacious and clean. The walls are thin, so be prepared to share conversations with others. The water pressure was amazing. The ice cream shop and small bar that’s located below the rooms are very refreshing. I highly recommend this place.

The Inn is a beautiful rustic experience! We stayed 2 nights - bed and pillows are very nice. There is a great common area to sit and relax. Inn provided good coffee, half & half and other coffee fixings! There is a tall set of stairs to carry your things up and traffic noise - but it is not that bad. Lots of food and shops within walking distance. A unique room to make our anniversary trip complete. Highly recommend!!

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the inn from July 7-9th. What an absolutely perfect, blissful experience! The room was beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The beds were so comfortable, and the huge, deep bathtub was so relaxing. The lounge was so beautiful. The closet for our luggage and clothes was huge; about a third the size of the room. We will definitely stay here again whenever we are in Hico again.
