Flamingo Eco-Tent Campgrounds

Had a great time in their new tents. Finally got to see the crocodiles that live by the marina. Close to many walking trails. We took the boat tour and it was beautiful and our guides were absolutely wonderful. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. We took supplies for fires and big spray but we had an awesome time and can't wait to go back.

For camping - this is a nice and easy way of going about it. You have a queen size bed, blankets (I would add a proper one for winter season though - I had to sleep in my hoody one night) and good amenities with hot shower. The view in the morning was spectacular, night time noises and the lack of light pollution was awesome.|But still it did not feel as comfertable as glamping could be for some reason. Maybe it was the other guests who were still listening to music, or the box fans that were turned on and sounded like motorboats in the bay. Or the fact that your tent could be quite far from the amenities so that you need to limit your drinking late in the evening :)|But definitely worth the money!

I’ve lived in Florida most of my life and never experienced or visited the Everglades so I decided to give it a try in an Eco tent at the Flamingo Campground. The tents are pretty cool, ours had amazing views of the bay and privacy. The positives would be location, the bed was fairly comfortable, the room had the essentials and it was mosquito proof (for the most part). The negatives would be the trek to the bathhouse (which is in need of updating), lack of privacy (we heard the neighbor go in/out his tent numerous times through the night) and the constant zippering/rolling of doors and windows. If you decide to give it a try, here are some things that would make the stay better. Cool weather bring a blanket (we brought a heated one). A power strip with extension was extremely helpful as there’s only outlet. An extra light (the one in the room is dim) and a wagon made transporting our stuff from the parking lot to the tent much easier. They do provide a few wheel barrows but they must be returned after use. We ate at the Flamingo restaurant for 2 meals and would say overall it’s above average for the price.

This glamping experience was a surprise my boyfriend sprung on me. I wasn’t “thrilled” with it in the beginning but it was overall very relaxing, tranquil and enjoyable! The deep black sky provides great stargazing and days offer hikes through the awesome Everglades. The queen bed was comfy and glad for the extra blankets! Only issue were the mosquitoes! Never seen so many or had them swarm! The marina store was out of spray! How does that happen? And too bad they don’t have a small coffee maker in the tents.

Was nice, good bed, no bugs, had extra blankets. Bathrooms were good and clean. No hot water when we were there

Get there before the sun goes down! The combination lock was a little hard to read in the dark, but once I got inside the tent, the bed was great, and the netting kept the mosquitoes out. I woke up before the sun came up and watched from my tent as hundreds of birds flew up to the shore. It was magic!

You wouldn't even know you were in a tent staying there... Beautiful being out in the open. Bring bug spray for sure. I got a little noisy with the wind flapping the tent and the bed could probably be a little away from the wall as a creaked but definitely loved the location and the atmosphere. Lots of osprey and other birds. No food in the tents but there are picnic areas and fire rings. You do have to go to the bathhouse to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night but everything was lit enough to feel safe.

Wonderful! I loved my visit to Flamingo, staying in an eco-tent. It's a special and unique experience. ||The tents are really nice. Comfortable bed. I think I got lucky with my tent because my view was unobstructed by other tents. I was in #18. ||The highlight was staying in the tent and even walking to the bathroom at night - under the black sky with only the lights lining the walking patch. It was beautiful! I do recommend bringing a head lamp (or flashlight).||I only stayed one night - and that was perfect for me. There wasn't a ton to do in Flamingo at that time and I was traveling solo. I could have perhaps stayed another day/night and spent time kayaking. For coffee in the morning I walked the Guy Bradley path over to the Marina Store which was the only option nearby for food/beverage. I know that a restaurant is opening soon (it might even be open by this point) - so that will be great to have another option. ||I saw many manatees in the marina.||I found Flamingo to be a beautiful and unique place and I'm really happy I made the trip.
