Prospect Mountain Campground

We went just a few days prior to Labor Day weekend. Leaving on the Saturday of the weekend. The camp really filled up for the weekend, tons of families. Lots to do for people with younger children. I had two teenagers with me so not so much for them. But that’s fine, we were really just there for a place to put our heads in between Wedding and exploring the Berkshires. A few things caught me off guard which led to a lower review. The location, while it is pretty and quiet, definitely has nothing to do nearby. There is no attractions that I would seek out. We are very much used to camping up in Maine where there is so much to do within a 20 minute drive. The next thing that led to a lower rating was the smell in our cabin. They know there’s a smell because they had put a deodorizer fogger in prior to our arrival and that in itself stunk. We opened all the windows and left for a few hours for a wedding, and that smell dissipated, but what was left behind was rancid. I think possibly it was the smell of vomit? Just very strong and acrid. The campground was pretty full and we returned from the wedding very late, so I didn’t feel comfortable requesting a cabin change at 10pm. The next day, I figured there was no point in even approaching them about it because the camp was obviously full. Labor Day weekend had descended upon us and the place was jammed with people. ||I do feel like we didn’t give it a fair shake, with a different cabin that didn’t smell so awful, we may have had a great time. As it is, it wasn’t awful. It just was definitely not a place I will go back to. I don’t have much reason to go to that area anyway, if I did have a reason to return to the area, I maybe would give it another chance.||The pluses: loved the bathrooms. Really nice. Hot showers with good water pressure, very private. The staff were super nice, very friendly in the front store. Housekeeping staff was super nice too. Also, the camp is pretty clean. I wasn’t concerned about garbage or anything.

We had the best time ever. The staff were fantastic to us and the campers there are the friendliest people I have ever met. It was very relaxing. I can only hope the overnight sites they have remaining stay overnight or possibly add more as most of the campground has become seasonal. Granville is a great area and this place is a lot of fun. Thank you for giving me the relaxing trip we needed. Our site was one of the best. It was well maintained, level, and wooded!!!! It felt like camping should. See you next year!!!!

Loved this campground but there was one real big negative. The full hook up sites have the sewer hook up on the wrong side of the camper and the water and electric are quite a distance from the sites. This would have been ok-ish, if you were alerted of this ahead of time. We had to borrow a water hose to reach the water, and had to borrow an extension cord. We couldn't use the sewer hook up because it was uphill and on the wrong side. When we tried to dump at the dump station, it was way uneven and our tanks didn't drain completely.

We booked a weekend in July for a very large group over 50 sites. I can't say enough about the campground. Everyone had such a great time. There was something to do for everyone. The cabins and Safari Glampers were super cute and comfortable. The staff was amazing, very helpful, patient and definitely went beyond the call of duty to provide us with great service. Several families have gone back to camp there since because they were so happy with the place. Looking forward to future events at Prospect Mountain Campground.

The camp site was suitable for our size travel trailer. Quite, very woodsey location. Internet was not all that great. Poor connection 😢 at times. Many seasonal camping sites among short term campers. People friendly. Adequate showers and toilet facilities on site.

Had a great weekend, even with the rain. Grandkids first time camping and they loved it, they didn’t want to leave. We enjoyed the pool, mini golf, and just walking around the campground. Our little 2 room rustic cabin was great, and we enjoyed playing games at night on the porch and roasting marshmallows around the camp fire. the staff and management were very friendly and helpful. We had such a great time we already booked for next July for 10 days.

In general, the experience was enjoyable. The newly renovated restrooms are aesthetically pleasing, albeit somewhat compact in size. Regrettably, there are only four restrooms, and one was inoperable during my visit. As previously suggested, it would be beneficial to designate a separate area for guests with dogs. Unfortunately, a dog began barking at 5:00 AM, and the owner did not intervene to quiet the animal. The swimming pool is adequate but relatively small. Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty, so swimming is at your own risk.

We came here for Memorial Weekend and stayed at a tent site with our young kids (first time camping for them). And our main attraction was the swimming pool, however the pool was closed! They wouldn’t tell us when they will finish repairing the pool but by the looks of it, it will not be ready for at least another month!! READER PLEASE BE ADVISED ABOUT THE POOL. Neither pond was used for swimming so we were very disappointed. The campground set up an inflatable pool to compensate but it was tiny , good for only 4-5 kids. We didn’t bother taking our kids there. The bathroom was nearby our site and it was very nice except that the showers didn’t work! Other than that, our site was nice, a bit rocky to set up a tent but we managed. They had a nice pizza food truck stop by on a Friday night so bonus points for that!
