Awesome little spot! Quiet, friendly and nestled off the beaten path. If you’re looking to get away, this is a spot. Not gonna lie, amenities could use a little updating, clean, just very old school. Reminds me of a fishing camp I used to go to with my Great Uncle in the 70’s and early 80’s. Good people, very friendly and family centric. Can’t do 5 stars cause of the amenities being so old, but that aside a definite 5 star

Our second year at Timber Surf Campground was just as memorable as the first. It's a fantastic family-friendly spot with lake access perfect for fishing. My son caught his first fish this year, creating unforgettable memories. Despite getting caught in a passing storm this past weekend, it only adds to the great stories we'll tell in the future. Highly recommended for a fun and adventurous camping experience!

Absolutely one of my favorite camping spots!! Staff is very friendly and welcoming, sites are enjoyable, bathrooms are clean [a must], the fish bite with a great cleaning station and we always seem to make new friends each year with the fellow campers. We always make a trip into Luddington a couple times during our stay but spend most of our days floating at the clean Timbersurf lake/beach area. Love when we get blessed with an appearance from the Bald Eagles too while kyaking on Round Lake!! Breathtaking!! Hope your stay is as enjoyable as ours over the past 20+ years!!

Easy check in. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The lake was clean. Only this is not much of sandy beach area. But we will definitely go back to camp again for a third time.

Best campground ever! Great owners, wonderful bath houses, right on the lake. We found this campground by accident a few years ago and it's now one of our go to spots all summer long. The park is wonderful for small kids, the fishing is great, swimming is fantastic, you can kayak or bring your motor boat or jet ski. There is something for everyone in the whole family at this campground.

We found this place a few years back after our planned destination turned out to be horrible. We called Timber Surf while driving aimlessly and they had space for us, and the rest is history.|| We absolutely love it here, and now visit multiple times a year. The camp store has everything that we may have forgotten at home and then some. The lake is great for swimming, the long docks provide great fishing, and updated playground equipment keep our young one busy.||Very friendly and accommodating owners. We will keep coming back!

Beware if you look like an outsider & have a Disability & utilize a Service Animal. I was harassed by what I can only imagine is the one of the camp owners/management, & one of the Deep Locals. Upon arrival , the place WAS Clearly Marked - NO Dogs - so I Immediately Vested my Service Dog. A professionally & ethically bred & trained working dog , at full attention to me, remaining 6+ feet away from everyone at all times, watching & being courteous of other’s boundaries & always creating extra space & never once barked at anyone or anything. Upon arrival , there were two small dogs on harnesses, barking , lunging & repeatedly pulling the moment they became aware of Sam - Sam Completely ignoring them. They continued to bark the entire time Sam & I were 15+ feet away from where they were tied to a tree until I can only imagine, they got so annoyed by their own dogs, they left We set our stuff down & went out into the water , which from out at that angle could see a group of older people (that good old fashioned generation) with their obese old lab standing in the water with them. It wasn’t until after the yappy dogs left (those owners looked like they were from around here) that I noticed a man of that same good ol’fashioned generation as the group floating with their dog , staring at me. Repeatedly making eye contact & refusing to break it , for SEVERAL Awkward LONG minutes, assessing the situation for himself how he wanted to handle it. He began with the usual “This beach says no dogs” & I respectfully replied - I hear you , sir. He’s not a pet dog, he is a Service Animal. I am a disabled Veteran, I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury while serving my country, & he is my PTSD & Medical Alert Dog. He has professional training , he’s not barking , we aren’t bothering anyone , & he’s/we also protected by the ADA. You’d think a gentleman of decent quality/character or intelligence would say something understanding, appreciative, compassionate & let it slide. Nope. This dude began to argue with me that if he lets my dog stay in he’ll have to let everyone else let their dogs in. I straight up said I AM a Disabled Veteran - I have my Veteran ID in the card , if you’d like me to go get it. I also had my 100% permanent & totally disabled paperwork in my car to apply for Handicap DV Plates for my clearly marked vehicle that has a service animal onboard. In which he proceeded to continue to ignore everything I’ve said & continued to argue with me about it’s not about me , it’s not about my Dog , it’s about Everyone’s Safety. I challenged the crowd, is anyone bothered by us being here ? Have you felt unsafe in any way? Than I challenged him , Where were you when the two yappy dogs were here? & what about them ?? - pointing to the group of that same generation with the obese lab. Again he repeatedly argue with me that my Dog & I need to get out of the water. So I started to give in & walk in , but than I stopped & said No, I am not going anywhere - I am a disabled veteran & I have a disability that requires me to have a piece of medical equipment while I am in public places , so I can enjoy access to public spaces with my family for this very reason & that WE are protected by the ADA. We are clearly Vested , not bothering anyone , & no one seems bothered by us , gesturing to the crowd of dead silence & clear awkward, uncomfortable vibes - so , no thank you. I closed with - “When their )pointed at that group of them) dog gets out , I’ll get out with my dog. Thank you. Have a wonderful day.” To which he finally walked away, than drove his little golf cart down & just Sat there several yards away Staring at me. Needless to say, the other dog never got out of the water, so Sam & I happily stayed , going in & out of the water having fun until grumpy finally got tired of watching me enjoy myself with my kids & my service dog, connecting and educating with the people in the water & beach area about my disability & what Sam is & what he does for me. 😬🙃😳🤷
