NillMy family loves our getaway camping trips to Happy Camper. Right on the river, quiet, beautiful and the owners are great hosts. We visit here several times each year to camp, kayak, and fish.

NillCall ahead before you drop your kayaks upstream to make sure the ramp isn't closed for a private party. We did that this past Saturday only to arrive to drop our downstream vehicle and discover it was closed to the public for the Redmon family reunion. They were big feeling sorts that felt like they also had the whole river rented out as well. I called the number for the campground and explained to the fellow on the phone the situation and he allowed me to park at the top of the big hill out of their way but is is a steep hill on loose gravel that is not fun to hike up after being on the river all day. To the owners, I suggest that in the future if you're going to rent out the lower campground you exclude the boat ramp area and the little turnaround area for it. There's plenty of room for the biggest of families there. I'm still going to leave 5 stars because it is a nice campground and boat ramp and the owners maintain it well and did their best to accommodate my float party. The campground is out of the way and quiet. A bit on the primitive side as far as amenities but well maintained and with large camp sites right on the river.

NillSpent two nights on the bottom side of the campground near the river. It was absolutely wonderful it was quiet the spaces are large and there's plenty of room to fish. Bath house was nice and clean but is a pretty good distance from the bottom side of the campground if you're staying by the river also there is no electric hookups or water hookups down by the river so if you're looking for that stay up top. The owner was great, everything was easy. Would definitely go back

NillGreat owners with a Big heart! Really loved the southern hospitality and the beautiful fields of the property. Really nice to have a laundry room showers and bathrooms on site for anytime we didnt feel the need to use the camper.

NillGreat place to camp after a few days traveling it's nice to have a shower, sit back and enjoy the river. The hill going down to the tent sites and river access is on a pretty steep grade, not sure how a rainy day may be get out of there. Owners were very nice people and the price to camp was good especially including the shower. Must make sure to clean up after yourself. The fire pit were all full of trash possibly because there were no trash cans available but they do have porta johns with toilet paper. Hammock camping is limited to a few spot aswell.

NillThis place is a hidden gem!! The tent sites are right on the river, everyone is super friendly. If you are in the area looking for a place to stay, this is the place to go!! We loved our stay and hated to leave but will be returning in the future!! Thanks for a wonderful experience! Bathhouse was super clean, no hookups on the tent sites and bring some sort of grill for the fire ring. Bathhouse is a bit from the bottom side but there are porta-potties down on bottom.

★★★This campground is near Rock Island State Park, but it is about a mile off the road with about 8-10 hook up sites. The owners are an older couple that do not live on site. The bathrooms are in a modular home and are clean. The showers are currently not working, but I am not sure why. The bottom part of the campground is for tents only and beside a river. There is potrta potty’s only near their sites. The bathrooms are a good hike up hill from there.

NillThis is a great place to camp, especially if you want to be close to Rock Island State Park. This camp is extremely low cost and the man that runs it is so kind and accommodating. Up the hill there is a bathroom and showerhouse. If it is important to you, there is almost NO service at the bottom of the hill. Certain spots are perfect for hammocks. This is a great place to fish as well as the river is right next to it. This is a great place and once you get here, it feels far away from people, but it really isn't too far. As a photographer, I liked this place becasue of the beauty. At night, I took some pictures of the stars, because it gets so dark here because it isn't close to big citites! Some of my pictures are in the pictures for this campground. I love this place and had a great time.
