NillReally gorgeous place The history behind this lake is very interesting. A earthquake in the 1800s made the Mississippi River flow backwards which made this lake.

NillWe've visited 3 times over the past few years and we've had a WONDERFUL time every single time! You'd expect the bugs to be bad but given the size of the lake, it has its own oceanic atmosphere to it and waves can get pretty gnarly. The wildlife is absolutely stunning, everyone is super friendly and accommodating. This is definitely one of favorite places to go camping and we always go for a waterfront campsite because we have kayaks. We've never had an issue using out campsite as our dropoff for our kayaks and we just leave them tied up in the water the entire time we are there. There arent really any hiking options while youre there unless you willing to drive to the location. The welcome center is amazing and we highly recommend taking a cookout cruise around the lake. We did it the most recent time we were their and i have to say, we fell in love with the staff, the park rangers, and fell even more in love with the lake because we got to go out further than we were willing to on our kayas. We love reelfoot and everyone who takes care of this beautiful park!

NillHave reservations for April but stayed there last year. Great fishing but if you're not into fishing there's not a lot to do. Restrooms are clean. Lots are good size. Good shade. Because on the lake, LOTS of mosquitoes so bring a lot of spray. Nice place though.

NillThe park itself is kind of neat to explore, and the history of the place is awesome. It would make a good day trip but there's really not much else to do around there. The wild Bird rehabilitation was phenomenal though.

NillBeautiful couple or family friendly location. The park and its facilities were clean and well equipped. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. This made a perfect setting for a quick get away. Don’t forget to eat at the restaurant next door! Amazing catfish & cocktails.

NillBeautiful campground BUT you do not want to be camping in a tent or any camper with only an outside kitchen after sunset! There are SO many flying insects after dark that you can barely see the mercury vapor lights. They are EVERYWHERE. One fast trip outside your camper and you're killing bugs inside for an hour. Again, gorgeous, roomy campground right on the lake, beautiful area for kayaking, but the bugs may be a dealbreaker if you need to be outside at any time during the night. The campground staff was wonderful. Knowing what I know now, I'd still stay again, but make sure I was set up by dusk.

NillPeaceful setting. Plenty of trees for shade. The water view sites are beautiful. Boat ramp available for small craft and kayaks. are clean and well maintained. Bath house was clean and conveniently located. Cell service was good. Only downside was no place to swim.

NillWe had a great experience at Reelfoot State Park Campground. We had a spot on the lake that cost a little extra. We easily launched our kayaks from the campsite. The bathrooms were dated but clean. All sites appear to be shaded. There is a boat ramp for boat owners. Inscets were fairly bad at night so bring your bug spray.
