★★★★Went to South Padre island to watch the Space X 8 launch. We stayed at the Koa . Was right on the water and the tip of the island, great place to watch launch. Check in was easy, and the staff super helpful. They have a small store, no restaurant. So bring some food. The park was large and had gravel spots. They do have spots with patio and tables, they also have a few spots that have your own deck facing the water (not on water but facing it) and great location to see the launch we seen it from our spot. They are also making new spots that are on water, but not finished yet. There is a couple of bath house, and bath rooms, they also have a dog wash area. There is a pool and hot tub and a playground it’s Very pet friendly, and I think all the campers had at least one dog. There are also tent sites with a pergola. They have cabins you can also rent. The park is very close to south padre island town, and also walking distance to restaurants. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend the Koa South Padre island, a must stay if looking for even park.

NillBeautiful area and easy access to town. Great bicycle access to beach and town. The rv park was under construction, but of course we were not notified ahead of time of this. No activities building, and sunset deck is blocked by overgrown bushes. The swimming pool is large but it's inside of what seems to be an old tank of some kind. Very strange. Walls around the pool area are 10' high with no view of the beautiful beach. Hot tub has absolutely no view as well. Sites are small but very private with lots of trees for privacy and shade.

NillFull service camp ground. Pool was great with awesome proximity to the beach, shops, boat tours and restaurants. Would have been a great spot to watch SpaceX launch but it kept getting rescheduled so we missed our window to see it. If we come back to this area would definitely stay there again.

NillVisited the campground for 10 days in January 2025 and overall it is a nice place. Note that right now this park is not beach or water front. It appears that there may be water front sites in the future. There are a lot of long term people staying there but plenty of space for others. As of this posting they are working on expanding the park as well as adding some new buildings. One of which is a new rec center that is much needed as they currently have activities outside. The sites are gravel and not very wide, with the sewer hookup a little far from the water and electric. Vehicles had to be parked in front, perpendicular to the RV. There are mature palm trees at each site as well as a picnic table. Bathrooms are individuals with a shower and are pretty nice. There are 2 laundry facilities, one with 4 washers and 4 dryers. (I did not check out the other one). The machines are newer put don't take coins, only cards or pay by app. The office is nice with minimal items for sale, but plenty of places outside the park to get whatever you need. We walked every day to the beach, which is about 2 miles. I would love to see a dedicated sidewalk from the RV park to the street as right now there is only a small patch of gravel that had standing water most days. Really would be nice to have a safe path to the main street. I'd like to mention that the staff at this KOA are extremely helpful and accommodating. Nancy, in the office, was so kind and helped us extend our stay even though they were booked up. She was always pleasant. What I didn't care for was that there were a handful of independent RV washing companies that drove through the campground daily to solicit business. They didn't hesitate to stop and ask us if we would be interested in a wash and wax if we were outside. Overall I would stay there again, as the other options for RV parks in SPI didn't seem half as nice.

★★★★★Awesome location on south padre island. Perfect spot to watch SpaceX launches. Close to the state park (short walk or bike ride). Easy to get into South padre, or back across the bridge. ||The resort is very nice, with a nice pool, dog park, amazing views and a great staff. There is construction going on, but its only during the day and doesnt disturb your enjoyment in any way. The resort is very quiet. ||We rented the royalty row spots with the deck and the patio. Came with nice composite chairs and tables. Tons of trees and vegetation, as well as wildlife. ||The staff will pick up your trash any time during the day. The resort also had a number of activities planned for Halloween.||There is a nice pool and hot tub for your enjoyment, along with a large play area for the kids.

NillWe stayed in a deluxe kabin for three nights. The 2 star rating is based mainly on two factors; 1) for an average of $200 per night we expected more, and 2) the entire interior floor of our kabin was squishy and saggy with sink holes, especially in the bathroom which would sink down 3" when stepped on. We had to request an extra entry door mat to place over the 3" sink hole to keep from cutting our feet between the separated vinyl planking. These kabins are aging and in need of significant updates. Other observations include: 1) the campground is packed in like sardines and extremely crowded with inadequate parking throughout; 2) the display on our AC unit was not legible so we had no idea what the temperature was set at; 3) kabins are located next to a busy street so you can hear the emergency vehicles with sirens throughout the night.

★★★★★Great campground. Great staff. Pool is huge. They need to fix up some of the wobbly pool railings. Great location. We had our bikes, so getting to the beach was easy, as were restaurants. Although there were very few places to lock your bikes. If I had my time back, I would have stayed here another night or two as opposed to the place I left for.
