Firefly Resort Cottages

What an amazing and relaxing place to unwind and recharge the batteries from life's hustle and bustle. The cottages are very clean and welcoming. Each cottage has its own tropical feel. The hosts were so gracious and unbelievably attentive. The ocean inlet in the back of the property was a fantastic place to sit and relax while watching the mullet jump, meeting the neighbor racoon family and seeing what the cottages are named for...Fireflies! The morning "coffee of the day" delivery outside of the cottage each day was just the kind of touch that makes Firefly such an amazing place. I couldn't have asked for a better, relaxing, vacation.

We stayed at Firefly Resort Cottages for 4 days. The cottage was so quaint and full of charm. All the details that was put into the cottage just made us feel so relaxed. Ian and Daniel are wonderful hosts. They had these 4 bottles of filtered water (2 in the fridge and 2 at room temp) and also a refill station to replenish when empty. They also would put fresh ground coffee on the clip outside our door each evening so we could have the best coffee each morning! It was a great time and very relaxing and enjoyable experience! A must go to if you need to get away and take a break from everything.

We are actually still on property as I write this. Honestly...this has been such an awesome experience! This place has everything you could ever want for a getaway experience. The hosts Ian and Darrin have literally thought of everything a guest could possibly need! Filtered water...fresh ground coffee for your morning delivered every night...just to name a couple things... The cottages are so very well done...every inch planned for comfort of guests! The outside area will make you feel so welcome and relaxed. We just feel like we are celebrated guest in a well planned out little uptopia!!! We are already planning our next trip down to Cedar Key to stay here! Thank you Ian and Darrin for making us feel so welcome...and for all you do that is OVER THE TOP for your guests! It is very obvious that Firefly is a labor of love for both of you! Folks come to Cedar Key... They have bounced back from the hurricane...better than ever... And STAY AT FIREFLY Cottages!!

This was our first time to Cedar Key, and Firefly cottages. My boyfriend is a State trooper and a busy Dad, and we rarely get uninterrupted time together. We wanted a peaceful get away.. and everything far exceeded our expectations and wishes! It was such a personal experience, as Ian and Darrin were incredibly welcoming, generous and accommodating. They truly go above and beyond! Our cottage was comfortable cute and eclectic.. and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and truly allowed us the reflective alone time we needed! Watching the mullet jump and the tide changing daily was so meditative and relaxing! Bring your SUP or kayak! We got out on the water daily.. And the freshly ground coffee waiting for us every morning was such a lovely surprise! Thank you Ian and Darrin for being so kind, we will definitely return!

This place was so perfect and spectacular that I almost don't know where to start. The hosts Ian and Darrin were amazing. Friendly and very attentive to our needs. The cottages are just perfect. They were once run down fishing cottages until Ian and Darrin bought them and completely transformed them. Now they are literally pieces of art.|Beautifully decorated with antique furniture, excellent reading material, stunning art work and splashes of color everywhere. |The bed was so comfortable, with cotton sheets, that I didn't even miss my great bed at home. The cookware was also very nice, not the usual Teflon covered garbage you usually get. Ditto on the dishes, utensils and glassware. |Ian and Darrin deliver freshly ground coffee to your door every evening and supply filtered water with a watering station on the beautiful grounds when you need more. |One of the best parts is that the property is right on the water. We took our canoe and launched it directly from the back of the cabin. Stored it safely there throughout our stay. All I can say is I can't wait to go back again soon .

I can't say enough good things about Firefly. My partner and I lost our 15 year old dog and needed a quiet place to get away for a bit. Firefly was recommended by my parents who recently stayed and raved about it. Ian and Darrin were absolutely wonderful and understood our situation completely. They were so kind and accommodating. The cottages are so charming and fully equipped. We stayed in the Writer's Cottage, which had the most comfortable bed and pillows, cable, quality toiletries, incredible filtered water, and fresh coffee grounds at our door every morning. Ian and Darrin keep this property beautifully landscaped as well. Our favorite part...Ms. Inda, their sweet dog that welcomed us every day. Firefly truly soothes the soul and we highly recommend it.

This was our first time visiting Cedar Key and staying at Firefly Resort Cottages. It was a wonderful experience. Like staying in paradise, a place to get away for relaxation and also have some fun! Our lovely cottage (Penelope's) was spotless, comfortable (loved the comfy bed) and thoughtfully setup. My husband loved the screened in back porch with its pretty water views and many birds. Our hosts, Ian and Darrin were great! They were very helpful and kind. And, they even provided fresh ground coffee, etc. every morning! We were a mile or so from downtown Cedar Key with its many restaurants, shops and beautiful sunsets. We could easily walk or bike ride into town and there were also golf carts to rent nearby. We enjoyed our time at Firefly very much and will be back in the near future. Thank you Ian, Darrin and Indah :-). Truly a home away from home!

Firefly Cottages are the most magical getaway spot ever known! Ian and Darrin are superlative hosts! My lady friend and I were in sure need of an escape, we stuck a pin in the map and landed in Cedar Key. Quiet, waterfront, picturesque, clean, well appointed, and so thoughtfully curated by our immensely gracious hosts. Couldn’t have picked a better resort! 🫶
