Serenity Bay Cottages

The property is beautiful, from the back. From the front 2 units? We had #1, and it has no windows whatsoever except those 2 facing the busy street. NONE. We had neighbors with a dog, we had neighbors with cars. We came back to the property several times to NO PARKING SPOT. We had to block someone in all the time, which is wrong. Called the owner, no call back still. And if you are not in the "big house"? you get nothing. We stayed here for 4 days and we got the 2 kayaks for 3 hours total. The people next door completely monopolized the deck, the dock, the boat, the kayaks, the yard, the chairs, everything. We were their guests when they felt like sharing. Then when we asked them why they thought they should be guaranteed 2 front parking spots every day? They told us to "call Sharon". Sharon does not answer the phone. These people called us "terrible people" for wanting a parking spot that we paid for. They were obviously better than we were and thought they should have the private use of everything. They were extremely rude. We had to ASK them to use the kayaks one day. Needless to say, the property says no dogs and says that you have use of kayaks. It does not say that you need to steal them in the middle of the night and wait for a turn with 16 people that were staying at this property. We never even got to see the boat... it was constantly gone. We will not be returning.

Loved Sharon's "serenity" getaway in Matlacha. She is an excellent and responsive host. Clean, spacious, & fabulous location on the water. Cottage #6 was perfect for our family of 4. Kitchen had everything we needed. The attached deck was heavenly. Kayaks and fire pit were a bonus. Do bring groceries, but restaurants are an easy walk. We were thrilled to be able to stay 2 nights, wished would could have stayed longer! Will definitely be back.

Our 2-day trip to Matlacha and Pine Island was a delight, partly because our choice to forego the chain hotels and try Serenity Bay. Sharon had great suggestions on where to eat and made us feel as if we were staying with a friend. We found room #2 to be attractive and the perfect size for the 2 of us. The A/C was quiet and very effective, and we lacked nothing. Our 2 hours enjoying the bay in the provided kayaks was a highlight. Do bring mosquito repellent if you enjoy the sunset by the fire pit as we did, as mosquitos are a fact of life in Summer after the sun goes down. We look forward to seeing more of the area with Serenity Bay as our HQ!

We stayed in cottage #2 in February 2018 with our two small dogs. Nice, clean room with a fridge, hotplate and some cooking utensils but not suitable for cooking any meals. We used the grill outside for that and otherwise went out to one of the many restaurants within walking distance. You can't go wrong on the location of the cottages! Lots of cute stores right down the road. The Perfect Cup is indeed the perfect place for breakfast. The resort has kayaks available on a quiet bay with gorgeous sunsets. We also used the fire pit at nights, firewood was provided. There is also a laundry room that was not only free of charge but the host also provided laundry soap! That was super nice! The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the road noise in the morning, starting at 5:30 or so. But that is a problem with many of the cottages on Matlacha since it's really a very narrow strip of land and can't really be helped. On the flip side, we were up early enough to see some spectacular sunrises. I highly recommend Serenity Bay Cottages and will stay there again. Maybe in a cottage facing the bay next time.

I’ve stayed here 3 times in the past few months while doing some work on Pine Island. Wonderful rooms, well equipped kitchenette, (room 3 has a big fridge). Kayaks are just out the back door and the rooms are right on the water. Nice for early morning before heat and wind build. Several restaurants in east walking distance.

Great place. Room was perfect for our needs... Very clean. All the kitchen comforts of home.. cozy cottage for 2 setting. The waterfront room view was amazing. Outside patio and fire pit area were great to have access to. The customer service we received was beyond excellent. Location was perfect - Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We will definitely return

we stayed here for a week and got very little sleep due to the fact that the cabin in this picture is virtually right next to the very busy road. Starting at 5:30 in the morning traffic put an end to any attempt of sleeping. I hung one of the extra blankets over the window to keep the headlights out but couldn't do anything about the noise. The room itself was not very well stocked for preparing meals either. There was a hotplate but also a sigh that any cooking could set off the smoke alarm. So we just didn't take the chance. We did use a grill outside once and went to the Yucatan restaurant(across the street) other nights. This would have been a great place to stay if we would have been in one of the cabins facing the water. The laundry facility was free of charge and the cottages were dog-friendly. We actually stayed here February 2018 but the drop-down won't let me go back that far.

Cute little place. Perfect for a weekend get away. Quiet and relaxing. Sharon was super friendly and just a phone call away. We originally booked for one night but loved so much we stayed for two! Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
