It was a cute, clean, nicely decorated, fully furnished little cabin in a quiet place. Close to downtown shops. Wendy was a wonderful hostess. Always available to answer any concerns or questions. We ordered a very delicious pizza from the EZ Mart. It's a "must try". 😉

We booked a cottage at the Green Buoy at the last minute, due to our other accommodations suddenly canceling our stay the weekend of our wedding. Turns out we were lucky to be able to change our plans, as the Green Buoy was absolutely perfect. The quiet and romantic cottage was adorable and had all the needed amenities. The kitchenette was great, I appreciated the private grill, though we were too busy to use it. The bed was very comfortable. Wendy, the owner, made us feel so welcome and we felt like she was included in our big day given how involved she was in making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect weekend. We loved our stay and would book again in a heartbeat!

What a find! Great place for a getaway with your significant other or even just by yourself. The cottages have been lovingly restored and are unique and charming. Wendy is a great host. She knows the area well and provides you with an extensive list of recommendations. We’re already planning a return trip.

Spent 4 days at Green Buoy - loved it! The house was absolutely charming, everything was clean and fresh, and the beds were super comfortable! Sitting out at the water was so relaxing. And we loved the list of local sites and attractions that was included - Gravity Hill was cool! Wendy and Dave are great hosts, very responsive to questions, and helpful. Definitely recommend this as a great getaway!

I booked the large cottage on the Green Buoy Resort for my sister's wedding in July 2020. Unfortunately the wedding has been postponed and I have cancelled my reservation, but I wanted to give Wendy a shout out for her responsiveness and flexibility. She was very kind throughout the process and we are sad not to be able to enjoy the resort. The owners gave us a full refund in a timely manner and we would recommend them just based on our interactions via email. Best of luck Wendy & Green Buoy!

The Green Buoy Resort is a very special place. My husband and I loved it for so many reasons. First off, the location is incredible. Portage Lake is right outside the property, and the big lake (Lake Michigan) is a 25 min bike ride away. On to the cottage. This has got to be the cutest little cabin I’ve ever seen. The owners, Wendy and Dave, put so much creativity and love into it. We stayed in the Resorter cottage and loved using the kitchen for breakfasts and using the Smart TV to watch our favorite Netflix shows at night. The grounds of the resort are great too. We hung a hammock in the woods part, sat by the campfire in the evenings with other guests, and lounged by the pool during the sunny part of the day. Wendy and Dave are so friendly and always looking out to make sure your stay is special. I walk away from the Green Buoy feeling like I visited family. . I followed Wendy’s guidance on places to go and ended up with a perfect trip (you can find it on airbnb to give you some ideas of the area). We loved driving up the scenic M22 to the Baldy Dune in the Arcadia preserves and having dinner at sunset on Crystal Lake (shout out to Rock’s Landing!). Enjoyed all the small town charm in Manistee (delicious fish at Blue Fish) and Frankfurt. And nearby in Onekama, the Yellow Dog Cafe has the best cupcake I think I’ve ever had, and Papa J’s was great for a classic ice cream sundae. The Green Buoy is a true gem! I cannot recommend it more!!

My room was very quaint, and clean. The owners are super friendly and very chill. The place is right across the street from the lake. There's a fire pit and chairs right on the lake, where you can watch the sun set. Very nice and dog friendly too!
