NillBED BUGS! Our room had bed bugs. We were in Sitka for work and ended up with our bodies covered in bites, and I’m sure taking them home with us considering how many there were in the room. Found bed bugs and took pictures and put some in a cup. Went down to talk to the front desk and they were very unconcerned and uncaring. They moved us to a different room but I had to miss work to wash all our laundry while moving to the new room to try to rid ourselves of them. AND they made us pay for the laundry service, didn’t offer to pay for it or discount our bill or give us a food voucher for the restaurant or anything. Not even an apology! Aside from that- the hotel in general is very musty with a strong smell of harsh cleaning chemicals, bit worn down, and they price gouge you every step of the way. There is a mini fridge in each room but no microwave. The hot water is very finicky. They charge for most things other hotels give you free. Absolutely horrible stay! We understand that when you travel bed bugs are a risk, but to not even apologize or try to make it right is appalling!

★★★★★Stayed 3 nights.||Sitka is quite small and everything in the town is within walking distance of everything else, apart ftom going to Japonski island for the airport and the Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center. You will need the hotel shuttle for that.||We had a great view of the harbor and the spectacle of watching a cruise ship pirouette in the harbor when it was departing. The restaurant is physically attached to the hotel, but run as a separate operation, so one cannot charge meals to the room.||The hotel is charming with a large enclosed area to watch TV or read. The only place that I’ve encountered that had books on shelves to read if it was raining too much that day. The collection of Nancy Drew books was surprising (see picture). I left a book there as well, just to try to provide for a little more diversity.||We encountered the flight crew of our flight on the same shuttle van and were assured that this was the best hotel in Sitka. They routinely overnight in Sitka, so I would hope they know.||No A/C in the rooms, it is an older hotel, but still quite nice. The fan was adequate to keep us comfortable at night and the window had a screen. We had apparently arrived on the best days (warm and dry) in the past two weeks.| |The lobby is often full of tourists here to fish for a few days, but that’s Sitka, not just that hotel.

NillHad to stay in Sitka due to medical emergency. Came back to room which is really old and housekeeping not done. Picked up phone to call front desk and phone not working. Walked down and front desk says we had do not disturb sign on. We did not and we were at hospital all day from 10am. Told her the phone doesn’t work. She said try plugging it in. It’s plugged in and doesn’t work. Cruise season ended yesterday and they still charge $300 for the room.

NillCustomer service was top notch. Rooms were okay. Clean, bedding was comfortable, but for the price I would have expected something a little more up to date

NillNightcrawler reservation service does not track your reservation efficiently. Thus I would not trust this property. Reservation canceled.

NillHotel is well located. That's the plus. The rooms are quite small. We were greeted with non -functioning elevators, so we had to hike up to our fifth floor room. We got lots of practice during the night as we enjoyed two false fire alarms that drove guests up and down the fire escape stairs and out into the street. Thankfully, it wasn't raining!

NillThis review is for the restaurant "Coldwater Bar and Grill" Food listed on menu was not what was delivered, the server blamed it on the menu not being updated. Waited for almost an hour to get our food after placing our order. Food quality was dismal. French fries were completely soggy after serving crab legs right on top of them. Missing coleslaw. No refills on drinks. Server was nowhere to be found. Delivered food and never checked back to ensure things were going well. I should not need to search for the server to get things addressed. Crab legs would not crack open, all they would do is bend. Extremely disappointing experience. Food truck options with better food options were available within a short walk. BEWARE!!
