NillI've stayed here two times for work! Vincent has been absolutely wonderful to work with. It is an older motel that has been renovated, but it is nice in Tok- I definitely will try to stay again as I am down there every week for work! Thank you again, Vincent! I will recommend my coworkers to check our your place!

NillA wonderful gem of a place in Tok. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless and well stocked. There was a microwave, small fridge with freezer in lieu of a mini fridge, a hot plate, and a Keurig. I was traveling with my German shepherd and I loved that a pet cover was on the couch, so she knew she was allowed up there! I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable stay! I would absolutely stay here again.

★★★★★Great overnight stay. Big clean bed and a couch area. Agree with the other review that says it was the cleanest stay of the trip so far. Awesome staff. Very quiet. Will stay here again if travel back through Tok. It was refreshing to have a big flatscreen and crisp white sheets during our travels.

★★★★★Traveling back to North Carolina on my motorcycle…picked the Golden Bear based on reviews and other info online. Definitely the right choice! Room was nice and clean…plenty of hot water…coffee maker in the room with K-cups…and the owners are very nice. If you are coming through Tok…stay here. It will not disappoint!!

NillMy wife and I stayed here last night. Was woken up in the middle of the night . Owners said someone was smoking weed. We were obviously sleeping and no weed smell. We checked out around 9:15am and as we were eating breakfast down the road. They charged us $250 !!!! My wife called they said the room smelled like weed!!!! They scammed us for $250!! There wasn't any weed smoked at all in that room!! Scammed!

NillWe stayed here for one night, and our experience was amazing. The owner was so kind. He offered us parts to fix our trailer and even offered to help fix it. The room we stayed in was very nice and very clean and very affordable. Of we pass through here again, I will be staying at The Golden Bear Motel.

NillThe owners seek profit over customer comfort. Yes, I want them to make money and stay in business, but there are limits. The rooms were recently remodeled. So, at first glance, the room looked nice. When using the bathroom, there was a very distinct musty odor. It made me wonder if when they remodeled the rooms, did they fix problems or just cover them up. The biggest issue was the room I had was on the end adjacent to the outside stairs. When I say adjacent, I mean literally attached to the building. Not only could you hear every step on the metal stairs, but the wall vibrating as the stairs were attached to the room wall. When I checked out and was asked about the room, I gave my honest reply. The response back was, yeah, we’ve had noise complaints before but not one mentioned the wall shaking. The hotel was not fully booked – just the type of room I booked. So, they could have said something like -- the room booked is one that receives noise complaints, since we are not fully booked, we will give you a free upgrade. Did they do that? NO. When I complained and they confirmed the room had issues, did they offer any compensation? NO. Over the dozen times I have stayed in Tok, I have stayed at Young’s Motel. Bear Paw Cabins, and various BnBs. This was my first time at Golden Bear – and yes, my last time.
