June's Whittier Condo Suites

My family wasn't actually able to stay at June's place due to some confusion with our travel plans, but we did have the pleasure of meeting her and seeing her suites. She was such a gracious host during the time we spent with her, and it was incredibly evident that she really cares about her suites (she lives on the same floor of the building). The location is really unusual - it's on the top floor of the one & only condo building in Whittier, a town that is accessible through a one-lane tunnel with limited openings. June's condos up on the 15th floor have really great views of Whittier. And it was so cute that she provided a basket of all sorts of snacks for her guests!!!

Couldn't have stayed at a better place. Exceptional!! Condo was very spacious with an absolutely gorgeous view. Cant say enough good things about June. She's an absolute peach a d so thoughtful and helpful. We definitely enjoyed her company. Would definitely stay here again.

I was very pleased with our stay at June's condos. She made our visit amazing. She started with us for awhile telling stories about her life in Whittier, and escorted us to the school the first morning. We were able to eat breakfast with the kids and staff. It was amazing.

These accommodations are in the one building in Whittier where most of the towns residents reside. It was a very cool, funky experience, that I would highly recommend. The building has a store and laundry facilities and if you get a harbor view room, you’ll have a fantastic view of the city, harbor and mountains. Plus, you’ll get the experience of driving through a 2 1/2 mile long tunnel to get there. Highly recommend.

I did not know what to expect about our stay in Whittier, but I loved it! The town is so small and almost everyone lives in this historic building. There is a small exhibit explaining the building's Cold War history and how it was sold to the town after being used for military housing. Whittier was our final vacation stop and after staying in one room hotels for our entire trip, it was great to have an entire apartment to spread out in. The apartment was well maintained, had everything we needed, and we slept really well. June was incredible! She invited us in to our apartment to point out the pedestrian tunnel and the best places to eat. It was also pouring during out time in Whittier and while we had rain gear, it was not sufficient for the intensity of the Alaskan rain/wind. June outfitted us with umbrellas and rain gear that went from head to toe (literally ... she also gave us a tip about wrapping plastic bags around your feet to keep them dry). Walking out in her gear, I felt like a true Alaskan. June was a major part of our appreciation for Whittier's charm. Thank you and we hope we come again!

Myself and riding buddy arrived in Whittier on June 19th after departing Homer riding in three hours of constant rain and cold weather conditions. When we arrived at the Whittier ferry terminal, we were advised we were a day early! Every room in town was taken and our only alternative was to ride back to Anchorage, some 1 1/2 hours away. Fortunately we were given June's name and we called her as a last resort. As it turned out she had a cancellation earlier in the day which turned out to be a life saver for us. We quickly rode up to June's suite and met by the most wonderful host / owner, June Miller. June could see we were wet and cold and offered up her washer and drier to do all of our laundry and then invited the two of us as her guest to attend a pot luck dinner later in the evening. From what was looking like a total disaster turned in to the best experience of our 22 day riding adventure. The two bedroom suite on the 15th floor was clean, comfortable and had all the comforts of home along with a big screen television. Even with the rain and mist, the view from the 15th floor was breathtaking. I considered June Miller to be our "Guardian Angel" on this day in June and will never forget her kindness. Our condo was on the 15th floor with a most amazing view of the water, mountains and marina. The 2 bedroom 1 bath condo is very well equipped with anything you would need to make your own meals. The unit is very clean and the beds were comfortable. We will stay here again. You Cannot beat the view - most incredible. June is a dear to work with as well. Very accomodating and friendly.

6 of us stayed here. We were on the 15th floor at the top of the building that most of the people in Whittier live in. June was great and met us when we arrived a provided a very nice breakfast basket. . She gave us recommendations on where to walk, and where to eat dinner. She also shared some history of Whittier along with her enthusiasm. And from our windows we could see the whole town so June could just point to the places she recommended. The condo we rented for a night was perfect for the 6 of us. It is a historic building, so things are old, but in good repair. No air conditioning, but there were fans. It was comfortable. Parking is included. I would highly recommend it.
