★★★★★I've stayed at the Surf & Sand as well as a high-end condo in Laguna. This experience was comparable at a fraction of the price. The location is amazing and amenities were great. The ocean view room on the 4th floor had a panoramic view and the sound of the ocean. The beach is just steps away! We really liked the renovated lobby and the rooms. There were nice touches like fancy soaps, nice instant coffee from Canyon Coffee, and even a hotel radio station to tune into! The staff were really nice and offered us a free birthday drink and allowed us to leave bags when we checked out. We will definitely be returning!

NillThe most dreamy staycation we could have ever imagined. My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary. We drove down from Manhattan Beach for one night at this boutique hotel. It met every expectation that we had. We felt refreshed and relaxed the minute we walked into Casa Loma. The staff was so wonderful, and chill! They were more than willing to help with anything, but also weren’t overpowering. Dennis was the Bartender and he brings amazing energy and conversation. The location is the perfect distance away from the town, but a 2 minute walk to the stores and restaurants. We already can’t wait to come back. Most wonderful stay EVER. Thank you Casa Loma team!!!!

NillThe reviews on this spot are so confusing so we were nervous….but wow! This is THE SPOT in Laguna. Stunning lobby, rooms, views. Lovely, peaceful and stunning. Perfectly walkable to everything. Make sure to visit Jedidiah Coffee!! It’s a 5 minute walk Oceanside! Also 5 minutes the other way is Deck which is incredible for a drink to watch the sunset! 6pm cookies in the lobby. The rooftop is incredible! Staff were so kind! I will never stay anywhere else. The walking path goes right by the hotel. Quiet and quaint in the heart of it all! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

★★★★★Quiet hotel, close to everything which has had a brilliant renovation and offers unsurpassed views (spring for the ocean view!!). Pics below show views from the property. ||||Honestly, the access to the fourth floor private/quiet deck for dolphin spotting or just "taking in" LB is amazing! We saw dolphins every day of our stay from the hotel. ||||The access to LBeach is great in general: everything is within walking distance. ||||The rooms are really well appointed with fantastic housekeeping (immaculate), the staff are lovely and the evening cookies from a local bakery (standard and vegan) are incredible and such a nice touch each evening! ||||Also, the on site parking (surcharge) is great.

Nillshocked by the negative reviews, because I had an impeccable experience. But maybe the hotel had some growing pains when it was under construction. For my visit this week, it was amazing. Just so utterly relaxing and lovely. My room faced the ocean, so I could hear the waves at night. I love the open bathroom set up. It makes the room feel both airy and cozy. I slept like a baby in the bed. The staff were so nice. The location was amazing. The weather when I was there was really chilly so it was super nice to have a hot tub to unwind in. Definitely hit up Jedidiah coffee down the street in the morning! can’t wait to come back when the weather is warmer. I think my only complaint was that it’s a shame that the air conditioner faces the beds, so it does kind of feel like it’s blowing at your face. But I guess there’s not much they can do about that. I slept with my balcony door open, which was way better!

NillAmazing location - steps from art galleries, coffee shops, shopping and restaurants. The renovation is stunningly clean, chic and modern yet still warm. Check-in was a breeze (thank you Judy!) and the cocktails at Cecilia’s were great.

NillI’ve never written a review before. I am now. Have stayed here for years and loved it. After new management, it’s dishonest, exploitative, and not at all family friendly. I called before booking to verify amenities were same; they lied. No beach items, despite advertised. Complimentary wine bar is now $20 a glass. Complimentary coffee in lobby is now $7 a cup..of terrible black coffee. Coffee maker in room is now instant coffee. I was told the pool is 86 degrees. It’s ice cold and the hot tub looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a year. The ac and plumbing have always been old and extremely loud. Same now, but it seems they renovated wall tiles and not this. Toilet had issues first day. Ac wakes us up all night. Homeless camped out near hotel door. Called for manager for two days. Staff said he’d call me but never did. Cold water in shower last day and bathroom smelled like sewage. Asked for receipt to be emailed to me; never received, despite calling twice and asking they resend it. Great reviews of recent look like they were written by tour guides in area. Probably paid. Do NOT stay here!

NillCutest little hotel right on the beach! Had a few issues with the shower leaking in the bathroom during showers but housekeeping took care of it immediately and always had fresh towels ready. Loved that we could literally walk outside and be on the beach and close to everything Laguna has to offer including delicious restaurants in walking distance. My kids enjoyed the heated pool and jacuzzi after playing in the cold ocean. Would absolutely stay here again
