NillBlue Iguana A must visit destination ever since it came on my radar ages ago. The whimsical titular sculpture caught my heart and finally made it out there. It's just two miles south of Ojai and across the street from the Ojai Valley Trail. Arrived on a Thursday afternoon after 4 pm so able to check in immediately. It's just two miles south of Ojai and across the street from the Ojai Valley Trail . Cute front desk lobby had it all. We reserved a deluxe king room that had a small semi-secluded patio set for our use but time got away from us and it was too chilly to use til check out day. The room was so cute with rustic whimsical touches throughout. A DVD player(DVDs available at front office). Very clean and well-appointed with a fridge, microwave, kitchenette setup to prep coffee(Gaviña-for the snobs), hot tea and cocoa. Additional sweet treats and drinks are available to enjoy for a fee. If you want housekeeping, it's available if you inform front desk by 11 am. Two robes were available to use which we did to make use of the jacuzzi (tile work surrounding it is beautiful). We could hear kids on the property but the environment was tranquil for all to enjoy(the sister property, Emerald Iguana, is 14+ I believe). The property is beautiful, serene, lush... everything I could ask for.

★★★★We (my wife &I ) went up to Monterey. The 1st day we went to the aquarium. The place was packed as usual. LOTS of school kids on field trips. The aquarium is on the pricey side,$65 for each of us.Its been a few years since our last visit. Not much has changed. We booked 2 nights at the Sunset Inn in Pacific Grove. We stayed in the suite over the office, large room, king bed, fireplace. It was one of the cleanest places ever.We will stay there again. We had 2 very good dinners, one at the Red House on Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, very good but small and $$.Our favorite place to eat is Peppers Mexacali on Forest.A full bar, tequila flights great service and amazing food!! I usually get the paella but tried the jambalaya for the first time and it might be my new go to.It was served almost to hot to eat (fromthe oven), but I fought thru it.The house guacamole is pretty good too. A better bang for your buck here! Reservations are recommended but if you can find a seat in the bar it's a great place to wait.

NillWorth it! I was worried about the location being right off the main road into Ojai, but it is not bothersome at all. It’s a 2.5 miles walk into the main part of town, or a 5 minute drive. The quaint little hotel is set back from the road with lush greenery and retaining wall creating a good atmosphere and sense of privacy. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished with traditional wood furniture, but very high quality and comfortable. Our king patio room had a sitting room with an adorable fireplace which came in great handy during the chilly fall evening. Everything is very clean, the kitchen is surprisingly large and well stocked. The pool and jacuzzi are well maintained, in general the whole grounds are very nicely manicured and they decorated for Xmas in late November which was very nice! I am truly impressed with the thoughtfulness of the owners in the way they run and maintain the whole property, such a gem of a place that you don’t see often anymore. As someone who does a lot of business travel and goes to corporate chains, this is a very refreshing change. Additional update: unfortunately our DVD player wasn’t working with our TV. The kind woman at the front desk came to our room to help, yet she wasn’t able to make it work. Nonetheless, the responsiveness and effort was there. In the future I’d recommend double checking that these things work and perhaps writing a set of simple instructions for guests to follow should they want to use the DVD option.

NillYou can’t cancel within 7 days of your stay. I have stayed at hotels internationally and all over California and have never encountered such ridiculous rules. “Only in the case of death” do they allow you to cancel. Rude staff, broken bikes, continental breakfast basket is overpriced gas station snack food.

NillIt's truly a shame that this is not a better experience! The compound and grounds are very pretty and the buildings have a lot of potential, but need some major upgrades! Most notably, some double pane windows to help with the constant road noise and the HORRIBLE rooster that starts at 5am, non stop until at least NOW, which is 7am! Upgrading the TVs to smart TVs would be a great option too as the current cable set up gives you 3 channels, no kidding. The wifi is weak, so that streaming anything on your phone or computer makes for a lot of buffering. The sofa is a glorified futon, not cozy at all. The whole place is just tired :( We are in Room 2, which is closer to the road, maybe something in the back of the complex would be better, but I would absolutely not take the chance to waste your money!

NillThe room was very cozy, with bright tile floor. The bathroom was nice sized, and I liked the shower. No breakfast. The grounds may be the best part, park like and very dog friendly.

★★★★★Great stay! Such a cute space! I was lucky enough to get a single room with a huge private patio, which was definitely taken advantage of, sitting in the patio table with a glass of wine. Their pool area is super cute, although I wish it were a little bigger as there were pool floaties being used. They provide towels and sunscreen for your use which is great. |Very close to town, whether you want to drive or ride a bike, which they have for for visitors use. Great general outdoor space as well to sit and relax and read a book. |Very nice place for a quick stop in Ojai! Will definitely be a top choice when I pass through Ojai again.
