They have the best hotel prices in Gaslamp! I had such a wonderful experience staying here over the weekend for a girls weekend. This hotel is “mom and pop” owned and the the owners are absolutely amazing! Although I had trouble reaching the hotel via phone the owners were kind enough to leave me a voicemail and return my emails to address my concerns about “check-in”— the owner (a woman) was kind enough to wait for us arrive knowing we were running incredibly late, she was sweet! The hotel is very “dorm-like”, we happened to book a room with a private bathroom (I prefer that as a traveling woman to have my own private bathroom as it makes me feel more secure and a lot safer with my personal belongings) there are many rooms that don’t have their own bathrooms and the guests have to use communal areas— don’t worry though! The communal areas are safe and super clean, each toilet room has its own door and the shower room has its own door as well and it locks! The front door was a little tricky with key, i had a hard time opening it but I liked that we were given actual keys — again, made me feel secure about where I was staying. I loved that the owners respected my privacy and the hotel is conveniently located “on the strip”. When you’re out partying and drinking it’s best to stay super close to where you’re staying so you don’t drink and drive and so you make it somewhere safe to sleep while “under the influence” haha. Everything is walking distance from this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

You know, it is a nice place to stay right in the heart of gaslamp quarter. The whole place is dated for sure but that adds to the charm. The main thing is that the room was clean, no bedbugs and the management was nice. I would recommend for those looking for a quiet clean place to sleep and go out to explore SD.

I enjoyed my 5 night stay at Pacifica Hotel. Had everything I needed, comfortable bed, quiet, clean bathrooms, good host. Lots of tv channels, fabulous location and great price for the area.Older furnishing, but didn’t mind. I would stay there again! Other guest I ran into were polite. First time using shared bathroom facilities, no issues with that.

If you're interested in an affordable, simple yet gritty place with a lot of character in the heart of all the action, this is the place. If you want something a little polished, this is not the place for you. The rooms are definitely dated but clean. The management is very accommodating. I stayed here during a conference and loved the easy access to the convention center, restaurants and sights and sounds of the City.

We should have read more reviews before booking this place. We would have just stayed at the airport overnight. The deal was too good to be true. When we first arrived the woman was pleasant and helpful and the room was nice enough especially considering the price, however, before going to bed at 12:30am we found a bed bug under my pillow. We then tore the room apart searching for more and buttoned up our stuff and barely slept at all. Please note that we only found the one bug. We did, however, find a hole in the mattress cover. When we were leaving at 5am we decided to ring the bell and see if we could get a refund or at least notify the owners. We tried to be respectful as we told them what happened, but they refused to acknowledge or accept what we were telling them and proceeded to tell us we were lying. We wanted to provide current review of this place. Pros include a private bedroom for a half decent price (which was more than we originally were quoted when we arrived). Cons include possible bed bug issue and rude customer service.

Okay, this is what I'd call a typical "hole in the wall" hotel/hostel. It is one of those places where some people live indefinitely - but please bear with me. My stay was absolutely fine: the bathrooms were shared - overall everything is a bit run down but clean as a whistle, no signs of bedbug etc. The room is clean, and I had no issues with noises from the street nor neighbors. The place does smell a bit like a nursing home though. There are no breakfast facilities, but who needs one, when you're in the center of the Gas Lamp District. All the food and drinks you'll ever need are within a couple of minutes walking down the road. Even grocery stores are nearby. And the San Diego convention center is in walking distance too. So if you need to save on your trips' expenses but still want to stay within this district, and you're not in need of much more than a bed and a shower, don't hesitate to stay over here.

Pacifica Hotel was very friendly, and had ease of access to and from the downtown district. It is right on the main streets of all night clubs and bars. The rooms are rustic and very cozy. The price was fairly cheap for 1 night and two guests. Compared to other hotels, and it was in a prime location for all the attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family, and stay here again in the future.

If you're interested in an place that's very affordable with characteristics in the middle of all the fun (no kids). This is the place for you. The owners are very friendly and is willing to accommodate your desires. My husband and I are definitely going to come here again. Everything is walking distance, very nice and quiet.
