We held a 50+ person business event here for three days, and I was blown away by the professionalism, customer service, and attention to detail. The grounds feel like a resort with different buildings, fountains, and levels all with stunning views (and elevators for accessibility) location is in the heart of Old Town. We required a meeting room, tech, and meals during our stay and everything was delivered flawlessly. The rooms are older but spotless, and you can tell the hotel does their best to provide a five star experience. Food and drinks at their restaurant were great. I would definitely bring a team here again and recommend asking for Lynn if you are organizing any kind of group event- they went above and beyond expectations and met all of our needs. Thank you for a great stay!

Booked the Hacienda Hotel the week of Thanksgiving before seeing friends in the area. I stayed here in September and learned that there is new management. I could see from this recent stay that they are beginning to make improvements to the property. I was happy with the stay as is. Our King size room in the 200 building had a patio with nice views all the way out to Point Loma and Mission Bay, a comfortable sitting room and plenty of outdoor space with tables in the plaza area. I really enjoy the multi-level grounds and the spaciousness of this property with all the trees and plants. It feels private and tucked away from the busyness of Old Town but totally accessible to so many areas in San Diego. I will definitely be back to this property when I visit San Diego again.

Hotel was beautiful in pictures. The rooms are rundown, especially the bathroom, had black.snd white caulking. And the faucet is coming out of the wall. The bath rub would not drain. The upkeep and reno could have been done a bit better. The hot tub was nice until I saw cockroaches. I am getting old and my knees are causing some trouble, the stairs here are relentless. The rooms felt dirty and I was nervous to sit on the couch or lay my luggage on the floor in fear of bed bugs, but I did not see any thank goodness. Overall, it was a great location, and beautiful in many places but the rooms need an upgrade.

It was amazing start but they don't tell you about the layout of the hotel there's 8 different buildings and a lot of stairs there are elevators but still have to take stairs. First room was old and crappy with an amazing view, shower was missing alot of things plus the shower head leaked everywhere and made a puddle in the bathroom. We talked to the manager and ended up switching rooms to a more modern and upgraded one which is what we were expecting for the price. The tequila restaurant sucks the breakfast buffet was bland and barely hot and they have these "parties" that blast music they ended around 10 which is crazy if your trying to sleep. Also they don't tell you they charge around 15$ per night to park in there cramped parking lot which was near the entrance.I feel like this place sucks for the money your spending theres definitely better places. If you're thinking about booking here definitely ask to look at the room first that way there's no surprises.

The Hacienda suits our needs very well. We travel to San Diego one time per year and stay for a week, and we have stayed at the Hacienda for about the last 20-years. The Hacienda is an aging property which means the rooms are nicely spacious, but does contribute to some maintenance problems. The room heating/cooling units drip water on the carpet, and one might inadvertently soak their socks by stepping in it. Don't use the elevator to the roof -- you may not get back out. |Like the property, we are aging, so we'd really like more safety, e.g. grab bars to help us in and out of the shower. Perhaps a larger shower safety mat. |We have learned that The Hacienda will assist us in many ways. We can have as much or as little house keeping as we think we need. We can have as much coffee as we want. Bottle water, facial tissue, etc. are readily available at the front desk if you've missed the housekeeper. |The plan is to visit again next year.

The rooms are nicely decorated. Some say dated, but I think more period appropriate for Old Town. They are not modern, but have everything you need. The hotel has many buildings: we stayed in 600 on the top floor - it’s almost like a resort. Room was quiet, but the building is hike up from the restaurant district. Parking is a challenge.|We ate at the buffet breakfast: nice host and good food with views.

When I arrived for check-in, there was a younger female receptionist who looked at me like I came off the street and she sounded like she didn't want to be bothered. I am a disabled veteran who drove 6 hours from out of state & I was using a walking aide and tired from driving. I said hello & she asked "Do you need help with something?" in a very condescending tone. I told her that I was checking in & she was talking to me like I was not able to comprehend what she was saying. When I finished with check in & one of the managers kindly asked her to show me where my building was instead of pointing it out to me on paper, she walked way too fast and wasn't courteous to my situation. She pointed out the building to me and said there are stairs here and the elevator here - like she couldn't just point me to the elevator because of my disability and she mentioned stairs like I could use them. Adjust your approach to your audience, don't just spill out the "general check in verbiage". So once I made it to my room, the room was clean but just felt a little rundown like the walls looked worn out. The tequila bar, which is close to the hotel, was loud with patrons during the evening (typical Friday night), so I woke up multiple times during the night. I was staying one night but I was glad to leave the hotel because of that experience & I do not want to go back to this hotel again because of that one receptionist. Other employees that I spoke with were nice, but she ruined my experience.

Rooms are older but that adds to the ambiance of being in old town San Diego. I stay here 10-15 times per year for work and a get away and love it. The staff is excellent from checking in to the folks working around the property. My wife and I will continue to stay until I hit the lottery and can buy a home in old town.
