Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge

I spent a wonderful night at Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge. Beth the owner is a delight. She decorated the lodge with style and flair. Rooms are furnished with restored antiques and very comfortable beds. There are several charming sitting areas that invite you to relax. She's an outstanding cook who clearly enjoys taking care of people. I highly recommend!

Our Sunday drive took us to Guffy for lunch one day recently. We had been through the town before, but had never stopped. Walking into the restaurant we were warmly greeted by Wilber. Wilbur took our order and visited at our table for a few minutes before he had to wait on other customers. | They had a $20 steak special served with french fries and a tossed salad. We are an older couple, not into large meals, so we ordered the steak for both of us to s[lit. Lucky we did because the steak was an inch an a quarter thick and 4-5 inches across. Beth cooked it perfectly, slightly pink an moist. the salad was special, its seems years since a restaurant has served me a salad with so many vegies. Lettuce, tomato, sliced onion and cucumber in a large bowl.| Who would have thought that we would find such an excellent meal hidden on a rural road 22 miles from Canon City. For those that need a further attraction, the TV was set to watch the Broncos vs Chargers (UGH!). For dogs lovers, be sure to ask Beth about her new puppy coming in early November.

I went for a retreat and it was such a great time. The hosts Wilbur and Beth made us feel so welcome I was able to have the kind of peaceful experience that is the whole point of a retreat. Charming place in a peaceful, quiet town. Could not recommend more highly.

A truly fine place for lodging for a Colorado vacation! The lodge is a very cool building with large lounge area, library, loft. The outdoor patio and stage area is very impressive and you can enjoy lunch or dinner out here. The staff that run the lodge are very friendly and they create a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are traveling in this part of Colorado.

Awesome experience! The hosts, Wilbur and Beth, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The restaurant/bar/kitchen/library areas are all newly renovated and look great while also offering a cozy feeling. The outdoor area is spacious; there is room both for tables and for dancing to live music. The scenery is also fantastic - it is a beautiful setting for a nice getaway. The rooms were spacious, cleaned, and well maintained. We brought our two year old, so we really appreciated the extra privacy and kitchenette that comes with booking one of the rooms. 10/10 would stay again.

A true Colorado gem! Travel back to a time when customer service meant everything to a business! The way they greet you as you come in, the way they make you feel like you’re family they haven’t seen in too long, the excellent food, cleanliness that hotels dream of and best of all… a bar! You read that right! Great food AND a bar, I know, is like a unicorn anymore. Whether you’re in need of a comfy place to sleep while you do your Colorado thing, or just a stop on the way to where you’re going… Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge is a MUST! You don’t even have to just take it from me. EVERY SINGLE nearby local I told where I was staying replied with something like “oh I know you’re in good hands there! They are such WONDERFUL people!”

We had our wedding reception here a couple of weeks ago. Beth, Wilbur, and their team made it a wonderful continuation of a magical day. They had already made the Lodge a great venue and pulled out all the stops for our occasion. A stunning selection (and presentation) of food, an excellent bar, and kind, quick servers... Our guests couldn't say enough good things! We are grateful!

We stayed here on June 3 while on a bicycle trip and this lodge/restaurant is a gem in a remote area. The owners, Wilbur and Beth, were very friendly and welcoming and have done a great job fixing the place up to make it a very attractive place to come and stay in one of the 3 rooms and/or to just eat and enjoy live music on the weekends. The food was delicious and the room was very comfortable. We felt more like welcome guests at the owner's house than anything else. Highly recommend this place!
