Baymont by Wyndham McDonough

I booked this place for an overnight stay. The rooms looked ok upon entering. There were a few pieces of (head) hair on the sheets and some stains on the side of the fitted sheets. If you didn't look, you wouldn't see it. The TV wouldn't turn on at first. Management came in and unplugged, then disconnected the cables before it finally started working. We saw a small roach on the wall. Our telephone didn't work. We had to maneuver the cord to get a dial tone, and when we tried calling the front desk, the automated message was, "The internet may be down." I'm not sure what that was about. The shower had 2 shampoo bottles and conditioner on the wall, but the body wash was hung outside of the bathroom near the sink. Go figure. The bathrooms definitely need to be upgraded. It seems as if that's what they are in the process of doing. There were rolls of carpet in the breezeway. Our key stopped working, so we were locked outside in the cold and rain. Went to the front desk to have it reprogrammed, got back to the room, and it still didn't work. Went back to the front, and the nice guy walked with us back to our room and unlocked it with a physical master key. He was nice. The cleaning crew was nice. I think the best part of this stay was the elevator to the 2nd floor. I'm grateful for that.

The rooms appear to be under current renovation. Carpet was nice and bed was very comfortable. However, the bathroom was in serious need of upgrading. The curtain rod was barely hanging on and the tub was not caulked where the shower surround meets the tub at the bottom. Some funky stain on the chair inside the room. Not sure what that's all about. Would not stay here again. Disappointing for a Wyndham property.

I had written out a review, and was waiting to leave the hotel before posting, but lost it, so this will be short and sweet. Pros: The beds. They're EXTREMELY comfortable and clean. The sheets are put on inside out, which makes me wonder... The room decor was "up-to-date". The breakfast was quite tasty. Parking lot was well lit. Cons: The florescent light above the sink flickered. There was noticeable dirt on areas, and what looks like mold in the shower. The chair had a stain on it. The hand soap was empty There were cobwebs on the lights in the breakfast area Cons that are just my own nitpicking; There was no trash bin in the bathroom But the bathroom wasn't even large enough for a bin. I could hear a baby crying, but that's a testament to how thin the walls OR how loud the particular kid was. The safety latch on the door was jiggly. You definitely get what you pay for. If you just need a good night's sleep, and bad maintenance doesn't keep you awake, this is your place.

Room did not have clean amenities- soap, shampoo, lotion etc were in shared large pump bottles mounted on wall instead of individual small items. Could see they had not been wiped down - dirty around pump top. Bathroom was almost falling apart. Water damage on wall and ceiling, corner of wall in bedroom missing big chunk of drywall - metal corner bead exposed. Dirt in corners and a baseboard coming off a wall. And on top of that they refunded my security deposit back to an unknown card that I did not use (paid for room and deposit with AMX, they sent refund to a MC and all they could do is tell me the refund was processed.) Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. AVOID!!!

Positive: Nothing Negative: My lock was broken on the door. It was unsafe. I reported it. They never fixed it. I reported it again. They did not offer a new room. I tried to check out early but they refused to check me out until Sunday to make it look like I stayed with no issues.

It's not as nice as it looks online . The shower was kinda ghetto and tub was stained dirty. This place has all outside rooms. Has a tesla charger. Was quiet and clean. Reeked of bleach.

Positive: Nothing Negative: The first room had stains on the bedding and puvic hair in the shower. Switched to a second room so that we could attempt to be comfortable. The TV and phone didn't work and there was roaches. Staff was unhelpful and didn't speak English well.

OMG Sketchy for 2 women & a dog. Granted it was a pet room w/ vinyl flooring but 1st thing I saw was spider building it’s web under the foot stool. Dirt on the floor but bath looked clean. Bath door is all scratched up (prev. dog?) as was the front door (filthy as well). Mattresses were comfy but on metal frames so the squeaked like crazy. Breakfast was typical continental quality. Total cost of $110 including dog fee of $25.
