Candlewood Suites Savannah Airport by IHG

Loved my stay! The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen that made my visit even more convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was great. Excellent value—I’ll definitely be back!

Never again. We booked this hotel as an overnight on a drive to Fl. Location was good, but everything else was terrible. The pantry was almost completely empty, including no water. The person at the desk didn’t know what they were doing. And when we got to the room, there were so many small insects we decided we couldn’t stay. For all we knew, they could have been bedbugs. We grabbed our things and told the front desk we weren’t staying, and that we didn’t expect to be charged. The manager on duty, with a smug smile on her face the whole time, said we’d be charged anyway. On our way to the car, we ran into another couple leaving the hotel who said they had also killed a number of insects and left their room. It took weeks, and a dispute case with our credit card to finally get a refund. And this was after talking to IHG directly and being told that the hotel’s general manager would call us. She never did. Every time we tried reaching her, we were told she was “in conference.” At the end of the day, the infestation was the least of the problem, more so the smug attitude of the manager on duty and the lack of cooperation from the general manager (and IHG’s inability to help manage the situation) that makes me decide to never stay at this property, or any Candlewood Suites, again. UPDATE: The owner of this hotel responded with the typical “This experience is not indicative of our commitment to quality… we have addressed the issues… we hope you’ll give us another chance…”. Blah blah blah. The fact is if you read the comments for MONTHS before my stay, you’ll see the same complaints about the lack of cleanliness, pests, and unfriendly/unhelpful staff. I believe the owner has no intention of improving the property. I’d suggest finding another property if you’re passing through the Savannah area.

This hotel was right off the highway, convenient for our family. At a glance, we were unsure of where to book and stay but this place is definitely clean and has spacious rooms. They have great service and I recommend others to stay here!

This place is nasty. I don't know how better to say it. It has not been renovated like the website says. The help was sleeping on the little waiting room couches with blankets and all. There were still mattresses in the hallway like previously 4 years before. Just filthy everywhere. Smelled so bad of pot it had to be coming from every room.

Friendly staff. Felt safe even with traveling alone during snow storm. The beds were comfortable and had everything that I needed in the room. Loved the little kitty that was outside that you could tell someone at the hotel was taking care of. Only thing I would’ve changed was not letting the construction workers that were staying smoke pot by the door of the pool. I can’t stand the smell. Maybe make them stand by their cars to smoke pot or in their car

I stayed at this hotel and it’s the worst experience I have ever had. Found 3 roaches in my room and had to lay baking soda on the floor in fear the floor was dirty. Was here on an away team and noticed all of my coworkers had the same experience on the the third floor as well. Amanda was great at the front desk. Our whole team had to be removed as I had to shake all my clothes and luggage. This was a huge inconvenience as I had to leave frozen items behind as I was glad I had a kitchen. Only 3 washing machines worked and there was a toenail near the ac unit. I sprayed my whole bed and tried to sleep on top of the covers as I had to clean the room.

The microwave did not work upon arrival. Maintenance was notified, came into the room pretending to not understand English, tinkered with some buttons, and abruptly left knowing that the microwave needed to be thrown in the garbage. I appreciate the complementary laundry, but one of the 4 machines did not work. The treadmill in the gym did not work either. The ice maker in the 4 made 8 ice cubes during my 4 days there. The bathroom faucet was shaky and about to come off and the tub is on an incine so I almost fell getting out of the shower. I decided to cut my stay short when the mattress lifted up and and my daughter and I nearly landed on the floor. My life flashed before my eyes and my back hurt for days after that. This place is a death trap. Do not stay here.

We left early. The room was dirty. It was old and dingy. There were a couple of bugs in the bathroom. The electrical outlet by the bed didn’t work. The treadmill didn’t work. My credit card was charged over $450 for 2 nights, so I had to call and hope they sorted that out (they did). This is the worst IHG property I’ve ever been in; we chose to drive home the next night instead of staying the 2nd night.
