Tru By Hilton Savannah Midtown

We really enjoyed our stay at Tru. First of all, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They provided lists of pet-friendly locations and activities for us. Loved that they had a pool table and Foosball table in the lobby. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, well prepared and had many options. They even had m&ms for the yogurt. Although it isn't in the Historic District of Savannah, it is only a short drive away. This hotel was much nicer and considerably less expensive than options in the Historic District. This was our first experience with Tru by Hilton, and it was a great one. I hope they all are like this.

Okay, I’m starting to think I might need to stay away from Tru Hotels. All the locations I’ve stayed at so far have had very limited space, and this one was no different. Please keep in mind that we didn’t have the smallest room—we stayed in a king because we prefer a little more space. Even with that, the room was still incredibly cramped. Tru Hotels just doesn’t offer the kind of space you’d expect, even in larger rooms. While we were there we encountered was that the fire alarms went off, and there was no prior warning. It would’ve been helpful to have some information about this ahead of time. I had to leash my dog and go down four flights of stairs. While I appreciate the extra cardio, it would’ve been nice to know about the noise beforehand, especially considering the hotel is pet-friendly. The loud sound could be uncomfortable or even harmful to pets’ sensitive ears. I would have happily made arrangements to be gone during this time had it been communicated properly. That said, this location was cleaner than some of the others I’ve visited. Plus, the hotel is in a great spot, within walking distance to several stores and restaurants, which is really convenient if you don’t want to leave the hotel. This location did offer tea and coffee all day, which was a nice perk since other Tru Hotels I’ve stayed in didn’t have that. We travel a lot due to my husband’s job and have stayed in a variety of hotels. While we enjoy Hilton, I don’t think adding Tru Hotels to their portfolio really represents the brand well.

First time staying in Tru By Hilton facility. Liked décor, colors and layout for facility. The room and bathroom met expectations for comfort, cleanliness, and allowed dog at no extra expense. Had places to take dog outside. Good water pressure and shower. Staff first night were helpful. Earned our standard breakfast evaluation: food selections were typical for a mid-priced, average quality lodging. Nothing was really distinctive although a broad range of things are offered. It is possible to eat healthy food but more likely not. Better pastries and more fruit could help improve things. Higher quality coffee would be appreciated.||Issues were location not ideal for doing anything downtown, did not feel completely safe outside after dark, initial room assignment did not have shades that blocked seeing in, so we had to move everything to another room, digital key did not work. Noise travels easily through walls; had to ask for snacks at check in (Gold status perk)

Me and my 11 yr old stayed here. We were comfortable and felt safe. My kid loved the pool table and Foosball in the lobby. The lobby is a nice comfortable area to hang, we felt welcome there. Modern design. There's large TVs (usually playing ESPN or business channel). There's board games and a microwave in the lobby as well. |As far as the rooms go, The rooms are kinda small but adequate. It worked fine for just us two. Showers are good size. The hooks on the wall were helpful. TVs are big and mounted to the wall. They offer HBO, ESPN, Cartoon Network, etc. Mini fridge also in room. The beds were comfortable and clean. Towels were clean and toiletries replenished frequently. It's worth mentioning that there is a nightclub next door. On Friday and Saturday night you can hear all the people coming and going and the music until at least 2am. It didnt seem to bother my kid. It did keep me up a little. But the hotel has thin walls throughout so if your sensitive to noise, bring earplugs.

The (king) room was adequate - small to move around in for two people with minimalist furnishings; clean facility; breakfast choices were good and the eggs were hot (important for me) but no bacon (grilled Polish sausage or ring bologna, not sure - didn't try it but my husband said it was salty with little other flavor). Would not stay at a Tru location again based on personal preferences.

Very clean, nice location, great breakfast, bed and pillows were very comfortable!||I'm very particular about cleanliness and the rooms definitely met my standards. ||Games for kids in the lobby. Easy access on the first floor. |We would definitely return!

Positive: The hotel was very clean and I loved that the room had vinyl floors. It?s easier to clean and feel so much better that carpet that has t been cleaned. The front desk staff was friendly every time we left or returned. Negative: The location of the hotel was hard to get to when returning for the day. You either had to drive through a parking lot or go to the red light and make a U turn. It was a pain.

The hotel looks nice. The front desk gal was friendly and informative. The common area was big with lots of seating for people to spend time and talk. The room was small. It fit a king bed and a bathroom. Smaller then a studio apartment or timeshare. The bathroom is nice however the shelf above the sink is useless. It's coming off the wall. The batteries in the remote are about dead. There is a bar next to the hotel that plays loud music well past midnight. People honking there horns in the parking lot and shouting. The hotel can't control that however I wouldn't have stayed if I knew about it.
