This place is awful. My room smelled bad enough to make my eyes water. It was next to the laundry room and I couldn't tell if it was some kind of chemical cleaner or one of the neighbors was cooking drugs. I almost checked out and found another room, but I was tired from driving and skiing all day. I had to go buy air freshener and plugins. The permanent residents store all sorts of junk outside their rooms. The refrigerator microwave, TV and lamp were plugged into the same power strip. I had to get the manager to reset the breaker so I could turn on the TV. I would give it -1 star if possible.

The room was clean, the price was not bad, good hamburger joint just across, Humdingers. My biggest complaint is we got 2 beds and 1 was ok but the other squeaked every time you moved. Sounded like the mattress was a blowup plastic. Not so great

Positive: The staff were great! Helpful and friendly. I really appreciate that they've kept the rates reasonable when so many hotels have jacked up their prices ridiculously. The room was no frills but quiet and comfortable, we had a great stay! Negative: ""

Room was very clean but very tired. Old-style motel but the price was good for the room. Only complaint was hearing the people upstairs walking around. Located within walking distance of restaurants and market. All listed amenities worked well.

I was in a real big pinch when I booked this hotel last minute. I was fleeing from a really abusive situation at home with no where else to go, and the manager kindly let me regroup in a room while I got the funds together to pay for the room. ||||I went from having exceptional service to absolutely terrible service and I honestly don't think I could ever stay at this hotel again unless I absolutely have to. Granted, I wasn't the most conventional guest, but I did clean up after myself and tried to be as polite as possible until I snapped a fuse after being treated so unkindly. ||||Here are my complaints: ||||-My room did not have blinds on them. There were several men who would sit outside their rooms and stare into my room, as well as onlookers who stared in as they walked by. I felt like a zoo animal. I tried putting up sheets/towels but the walls were so gross I couldn't get the covers to stay up. I mentioned the blinds situation to the front desk staff but nothing was fixed. ||||-There were several guests at the hotel (I am assuming ones that are live-in) that gave me extremely creepy vibes. I don't know if people are screened before being able to stay at his establishment--I highly doubt it--but my dog was not a fan of these men, and that made me really really uncomfortable, considering my dog is only aggressive to people, especially men, who he can sense have done some really unkind things. Therefore, I think background checks should be necessary before having people live-in on the property. It only makes sense considering there are also children living on site. For the safety of the kids at least, please, please have some decency to protect them. ||||-The curbs are super high on both sides of the motel, and the paint is very faint. I almost fell of the curb several times, and had inquired at the front desk to see if something could be done to get those painted, (even going so-far to offer to paint the sides myself cause I had yellow paint with me) but my request was denied. There is a law-suit waiting to happen when and if someone falls off the curb and breaks their neck, god forbid that ever happens. ||||-There is only one maid for the whole motel and she works her booty off just to get treated like crap. She has been working at this motel for 20+ years and needs some help. I was looking for a job in the area and even offered to be on service for cleaning duties, but was told "no other housecleaners were needed". TJ deserves some help and someone needs to advocate for her and for the sake of the hotel guests. ||||-There are no ramps/elevators/escalators in the whole hotel, and only one wheelchair accessible room (from what I saw). I had essentially my whole life with me since I was moving across the state, and had zero help with my bags during my stay. I almost fell down the stairs several times trying to repack my car, and all I got in return were stares from the manager and other guests at the motel. Did anyone from the hotel offer to help me? No. Is that ok to treat customers like that? Never. ||||The beds in the rooms are suuuuuuuuuper old, the WIFI is terrible and only half the things in the room worked (no functional TV, leaky toliet, leaky shower, uncomfortable beds and uninviting decor. I cut myself on the side of one of the beds and was highly considering going to urgent care to get a tetanus shot cause I was concerned I may get tetanus. (conincidently, I got bit by a dog the week before and was already updated on my tetanus and other bacterial vaccines so that was not necessary). Some sort of padding or something needs to be placed on those beds because that is a safety hazard. || ||-I asked for a late check out and was denied my request. I had a lot of stuff to clean and a lot of stuff to pack up, and had explained that, but was still denied. That is uncalled for. Especially when I didn't even get help in packing my stuff up. I did snap and yell at the manager, but I was extremely dehydrated, it was hot as hell outside, I was frustrated, and no one was helping me. So yes, I do apologize for the one time I treated management poorly there, but all in all I was a cherub of a guest compared to some of the other people staying there. And I could go into what I think is going on at this hotel, but I will hold my tongue for now until I decide if I want to file a law suit or not. ||||From what seemed like a cute, refreshing haven in checking in, turned out to be an absolute nightmare. All I got out of my stay were stares and laughs it seems, and I wasn't the one laughing. ||||But honestly, who gets the last laugh in this situation? ||||||A lot needs to be done at this place. And I hope things are fixed soon cause somebody is going to get hurt, whether it is from the unsafe physical conditions of the motel, or some of the unsavory guests that stay there.

For the price it's a 3 star. Great for the location and if you don't plan on being in your room much. Don't expect it to be extremely clean, or daily house keeping. Pretty sure many of the people staying there were living there. This was a very affordable place and not bad for what it is on price point. Owner was really nice and on site.

The room has all you need, but the building is old, so I figured the room under me could hear every step I took. We got in very late, so I was happy there was someone in the office. The shower was delightful; lots of water pressure & they obviously used a water softener. I was a bit disturbed by a bunch of stuff on the landing; looked like someone with a kid was living there in a room upstairs. The place was so full I had to park down the street, but the price was a definite plus!

My room was clean, updated, great sheets ( bring your favorite pillow). House cleaning as great - thank you!!! Yes there are residents - but of $60 - it's clamping compared to camping. I'll be back - hit Sams down the road for breakfast. Thank You Trail Motel.
