I’ve been staying here regularly for the last 4 years every time I’m in Lava. The rooms are good and the large tubs are enjoyable. Coffee and hot chocolate available every morning. Walking distance from everything. A perfect place for a solo or couples retreat. 10/10 recommend! I can’t wait to come back!

Home hotel is a great place to stay. Clean rooms great service. Tracie made us feel welcomed and treated us with respect and professionalism. Kevin has the best charming personality very nice and helpful with anything you ask. Love this place they will make you feel like home.

The Lava hotel and home hotel I understand are both run by the same manager. The rooms are okay to say the best and after my recent stay with my partner on our honeymoon we often don’t complain or have much care for the little things as long as we have eachother. After my most recent stay I had found that every time I went to the front desk nobody was available or would bother to help me and by the end of my stay I had no clean towels or access to room service. In the morning my partner and I would often go for walks and have morning coffee of which the “complimentary” coffee and hot chocolate were cold and the creamer was expired for 11 months at that time so they have no product awareness. Those are all things I can get past as the hot springs and food were terrific but at the very end I had seen they charged an extra $150 to my account as a “safety deposit” I was told and have yet had it returned. When I call either hotel they are both unable to answer my questions and state that the sheets were just dirty so they are keeping the full deposit but isn’t that what I already initially paid for was to stay and have my room cleaned as part of the initial payment. I have called everyday asking for the manager during hours they had told she’d be there but then find out she’s on “vacation” or just walked out so I am unable to receive my deposit back or have any questions fulfilled as to why they are taking the actions they are. I love the town of lava hot springs and will be returning just not with them.

Location is so close to the hot springs! Rooms are perfect size with everything you need. What stands out is the service, best service from anywhere I’ve been. Tracy is amazing and helpful.

Great location, just a two minute stroll to the bathhouse and right by a warm restaurant with live music in the evening (we visited on a Friday night). Kind service. As a solo traveler, we appreciated the phone call the morning of our reservation asking when to expect us at the hotel to check-in. Only service improvement request is the coffee is very weak, really just water. I tried it myself and heard comments from other guests too. I went with tea instead. There's also a cute, functional retro vending machine for soda and we appreciate the 24hr access to make your own hot tea. Rooms are alright! Mattresses were comfortable and the shades really effectively block out light for a good night's sleep. Major issue with our shower and sink in room 116 - temperatures went between frigid cold or scalding hot, and occasionally lukewarm. The real issue was you couldn't choose the temperature either, the water just changed temperatures without warning. Especially because the shower is very small (no escaping the water!) I would be wary of letting a child shower in there for fear they might be burned. For our one night stay, I made do and my aunt used the local bathhouse showers instead.

We love staying here. It’s always so cozy and we love the big tubs to soak in. This is our favorite place to stay!!

Short Walking distance to everything. Most rooms have parking. Nice little common area patio with converted hot tub running the hot springs mineral water on a constant feed. The staff are very generous with their time, accommodating and helping with questions. We stayed in room 102 and it was a great space! Small little seating area out back of our room. Huge soaking tub in room. Takes a while to fill but was a very pleasant doak for two adults. Nice king bed. Lots of space. Coffee in lobby of hotel all day. I can't say enough good things about this establishment. We will definitely stay here again.

We love staying at the Home Hotel in Lava! We’ve been doing it annually for my boyfriend’s birthday for several years now, and we are never disappointed. We usually stay in the artist rooms on the second floor of the check-in building, but this time we stayed in one of the front rooms, number 102, and it was fantastic! Having the soaking tub in the open space bathroom was much nicer than having it closed in behind a door, like in some of the other rooms. Plus every year we stay here I let the office know that it’s a special occasion and they always make sure to put a card in the room for him and sometimes a candy bar! The staff is so nice.
