Americas Best Value Inn Sandpoint

We bailed on the room 20 mins after arrival and stayed elsewhere. Room smells of old cigarettes very strongly. Trust the reviews. It was clean”ish”. Front desk staff was very nice. Just not a risk I was willing to take in terms of safety and concerning reviews about bed bugs.

Had to stay one night and had no complaints. Elizabeth was awesome and switched me to a different room as requested as I just didn't want a room adjoining the pool area. The room was clean and looked newly renovated. The bed was absolutely comfortable. The bathroom was completely clean. Overall it was a decent nights stay here.

We stayed one night and we were perfectly happy with it. It didn't look great from the outside but it was super clean with a comfortable bed, very quiet and the front desk staff very nice. Pool wasnt working but the room rate reflected that and we were not interested in a pool anyway. There is a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker which we used and appreciated. There was a stale smell when we walked in but it's an older hotel so that wasn't too surprising. Overall a positive experience and for the price it definitely worked for our needs.

Gorgeous hotel; rooms seem newly update. Hallways are beautiful and the pool area is under renovation, but looks incredible already. Staff were tremendously kind, even after we had wrongly complained about them after confusing them with a different hotel. Rather than chastise us for our error, they reassured us it was okay and that they understood. That in itself was enough to turn a terrible day around. The kids were as tired and cranky as us, and once we encountered the staff, everything was better. Was so nice to lay on the clean, comfy beds and have a huge sigh of relief.

We checked in last night knowing that this location would not be like the Hilton hotels we normally stay at. This was much worse than I expected. I don't believe our room has been updated since the 70s with the exception of the floor. We pulled back the comforter to our bed and there was a blood stain on the fitted sheet. How could housekeeping miss something so obvious? We were placed next to the pool which was empty. Unfortunately, it was fairly late when we checked in or I would have changed hotels. The receptionists were very friendly, and helpful. When we showed her the blood stain, she brought us new linens for US to remake the bed. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $20-40 to go to a legit hotel. If I could, I would attach a picture of the blood stain.

Bedbugs. Writing this on behalf of my husband, who while on a riding trip had the unfortunate experience of staying a night here. He woke up with bedbugs all over. The hotel said they would refund the cost of the night, so hopefully that will come through. He took pictures. The front desk took pictures. He threw some things out for fear of bringing them home. We're working through trying to clean with heat etc the gear not easily replaced. We're really hoping we took enough precautions that nothing came home with him. I hope they get it cleaned up and resolved before anyone else is exposed. Can't really comment on rest of experience since the bedbugs and early end to the trip overshadowed the rest.

Stayed one night with two dogs Staff was friendly, room was clean, they made sure we had a bottom floor room so it was easier to let dogs out for bathroom breaks. The only "complaint" is the room opens to the indoor pool area so the chlorine smell is stronnngg but thats not staffs fault, its just how the building was built.

Stayed here for one night after a concert event. The setup was interesting. We were on the second floor. Room wasn’t terrible. Had AC going, but kinda stale smell. The door to our room was so tight you literally had to use your body force to open and then close it again. It was so loud to shut! I’m sure the people on either side of us loved that. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work so it was very humid for a shower! Other than killing a giant mosquito and 2 flies, I didn’t notice any other bugs. Bed was okay for comfort. Walls/outlets in bathroom could have used a better wipe down though. Not terrible, but not the best.
