NillOur room had a wonderful lake view, every amenity we needed and nothing we didn't. The team was somewhat understaffed food in the roof top bar, but the food and spirits were excellent and the staff very friendly. Checking in and out, and the valet parking were very convenient. Add in an excellent location and we'd definitely stay here again.

NillSo this is not a "Hyatt" standard hotel. It's like a high-up executive had a kid who just got out of design school and they had a friend who wanted to flip an old apartment building into a hotel. They had no experience to know what they were doing. Everything here is surface. The plus side is that the staff for check-in/out was very pleasant, helpful, and nice. The cafe in the lobby has fantastic coffee. The location is awesome. This is a great place if you are young and don't care about your room too much, your trip is about the "party", and can sleep anywhere. The neighborhood did feel safe and cute.

★★The renovations were done pretty poorly. Whatever firm handled the overall room design did not think anything through.||||For example-||||The shower handle is placed on the far wall of the single-door shower, and it's a rain showerhead. So to turn the shower on, you have to blast yourself with cold water.||||They installed a rain showerhead, which has really low pressure on each nozzle, but they didn't account for hard water, so like 70% of the showerhead nozzles are blocked.||||There's no vanity light over the bathroom mirror, just a single bright overhead in the shower. Hard to get ready in the bathroom because you only have a bright-ass spotlight hitting you from the side.||||They wired the main overhead light in the room to the same circuit as the two ambient lights, so there's no way to turn on a soft light at night. Its either bright as heck or pitch black.||||Overall it just feels like nobody checked the designs. It's way more comfortable to stay in a beat-up Motel Six, where at least everything is set up in a way that makes sense.||||Staff was awesome when I stayed there, super friendly and welcoming. But I wouldn't recommend staying here, or at least make sure they put you in one of the older rooms.||||In the renovated ones, none of the people who were paid to overhaul them bothered to do a decent job.

★★We heard good things about The Lincoln, and it is in a great location for our purpose. We arrived the staff was nice, however told no other rooms were available, after asking about an upgrade. ||||We got to the room and it was well over 80 degrees. We attempted to adjust the thermostat on the window unit, it allowed us to set it to a lower temperature. We left the hotel for a few hours, came back, and the room was as hot, if not hotter, than when we left. We thought it would take a little time to adjust, no luck. ||||The unit was by far the loudest I have ever had in a hotel. It would cycle on every 3-5 minutes, run at full speed, then cycle down a step, and then cycle off. This repeated constantly all night, never changing fan speeds to what we set it to and never adjusting the to the thermostat we set it to. The next evening we had to turn it off just to try to get some sleep, and it ended up being very cold due to the old windows in the building. Frustrating. ||||Without a doubt the worst hvac unit, most likely because it was ancient. Not the typical p-tac unit, but rather picture an old window unit your grandmother had. ||||The television, lol, at least 15+ years old. Small, nothing "smart" about it, etc. ||||Overall the hotel is incredibly dated and needs a major refresh. For us, until that happens, we can't stay there, even though the location is perfect. We have decided that we need to sleep, have a little bit of comfort, and driving 2-3 miles, even in Chicago, is worth it so we aren't stuck in the 1980's with that level of quality.

★★★The lobby is very trendy and appealing, the staff is attentive and friendly, however our room was less than impressive. We paid to be upgraded to a suite and it was disappointing, our room did not have a couch as described, and the shower was backed up immediately after turning on, there was no shampoo / conditioner in the shower and no shelves to put any of your personal toiletries. It just disappointed.

NillGreat location and staff. The rooms are uncomfortable especially when it comes to climate control. The in-room heater/AC unit was noisy (often waking you during your sleep) and rarely achieved a good temp. Either too hot or too cold. On a Saturday around 4:00 pm when many guests were showering, our room had no hot water. Other guests in our party had the same experience. While a great location and staff, these advantages don’t outweigh the reality that the hotel rooms lack comfort, climate control and hot water.

NillHotel Lincoln is by far the most accommodating hotel, I’ve ever been to! Hands down, no question. The best. In fact… I dare you to find a better stay in downtown Chicago. Stop your search and save yourself the time and energy, because you won’t! I promise. Can we talk about service? I planned my engagement here and let tell you just how Stephanie Delgado, the front office manager and Courtney Baldus, the assistance front office manager went so far ABOVE and BEYOND to help us make our dreams stay come true. Seph went out of her, way (on and off the clock) to shop for and decorate our room before we arrived. Court was there, to check us in and capture the moment. The photos barely do it any justice and they were truly the most amazing, helpful staff members a guy from WI could ask for. Thank you Hotel Chicago. This was the perfect perfect stay for our engagement and BIG day! We will be back again someday soon :)

NillYou will be paying for the location only. I paid around $500 for a room that had less invested in the fixtures than a regular holiday inn. Good things:The lobby is beautiful. The rooftop lounge is a great place to have out. The shower and water pressure is great. The street noise is barely perceptible even on the park side. Things were clean. Bad things: The actual room is worn and cheap. The carpet is ripped. The shower curtain was frayed. There was a bug cocoon in the bathroom. The heating and a/c is controlled by an ancient wall unit. The room is tiny and dark. There isn't enough space to set two carry on suitcases and be able to walk around. There isn't a head board on the bed. Just a steel frame. The wall paper is peeling. The TV is old. Summary: luxury prices for uncomfortable, out dates, and not kept up room. A total bait and switch. Dear company, please do not provide lip service through a bot response. Refund me part of my stay!
