Comfort Suites Urbana Champaign, University Area

Pretty convenient location overall -- there's no food right there but lots just a few minutes away. We stayed there two nights and the first was great but there was a lot of noise from other rooms the second. This hotel is fine but bring your earplugs if you're at all a light sleeper.

Let me first say the place was very clean and the staff was super friendly! We would stay here again if we were in the area. The rooms are a great size, especially for a small family. Some things did show wear, such as some rusting on the light fixtures in the bathroom and paint chipped off the door. You're close to the highway and a railroad so you can hear them (we travel with a sound machine for the kiddo so it wanst a bother to us.) The light from the microwave is bright, but can cover it with a towel or such. The pillows came in firm and soft (neither of which were great for us but good hotel pillows are hard to come by anyhow) and the beds were comfy, as were the linens. Breakfast is your normal continental fare. We didn't get to try the pool as it's being worked on until April 2025. There also isn't any food around really but they did have a QR code for GrubHub and a Pizza place.

It was a wonderful hotel. Staff was very welcoming. Room was clean. We had 2 small dogs and the pet fee was minimal. All staff was happy to meet our pups. Breakfast was good also. Definitely recommend and stay again should be be passing through in the future.

My experience here was fantastic due to the people. Everyone we met was lovely, and made sure everything was taken care of. Laura was lovely to work with for our wedding block and shuttle. She was responsive any time I asked for an update on our numbers. She was also incredibly kind in adjusting some information due to a family situation. Beau was incredible when some of our guests called the wrong desk and were quoted non-block prices or told there were no rooms available. He personally called guests to clarify the situation, and was so kind and patient, even when they were frustrated. I did not get to use the shuttle, but everyone told me how amazing Calvin was as the driver, and I’m so glad they had such a good experience. I did not get names of the other front desk workers, the cleaners, or the dining staff, but every single one of them were spectacular.

The hotel staff were very friendly. The quality of the rooms were below average for the $152 a night price. First room had a really bad smell and I couldn’t open the window due to the screen being damaged. The second room smelled much better but had some kind of stains on the wall near the bed, holes in the bathroom that weren't patched and worn down, the couch had rip in it that wasn’t fixed. . I expect this from $50 a night hotel but not the price I paid. I would have left to go to another hotel but this where a wedding party had reservations/shuttle.

Awesome staff. Came in tired from the road clerk was really nice and helpful. Clean room good sized with a separate couch nook! fridge, microwave, coffee maker and coffee . Good breakfast buffet hot meal cereal breads coffee juice. They loved our doggies also.

I stayed for two nights on Sunday and Monday. It was cheaper without a game in town but closer in price to high/mid-tier hotels in the area. It's about 1-2 miles north of campus. It’s manageable with a car, but without one, you'll need to take the 22S bus or walk down Lincoln, not the best but not the worst walk either. The location’s proximity to the interstate is likely more appealing than to the campus itself. The road is busy, but the walls are well-insulated—I didn't hear outside or our neighbors, though hallway noise was noticeable. The suite, while inexpensive, wasn't ideal for more than sleeping. The pull-out couch helps if you’re with more than two people, but it’s not comfortable for sitting, and the narrow room makes it hard to enjoy the space. The TV’s best watched from the bed, not the couch. The Wi-Fi was frustrating, disconnecting every few hours on all three of my devices, which wasn’t great since I was working from the hotel. Reconnecting wasn’t hard, but it was inconvenient. The hotel breakfast was okay—waffles are great, but options are limited if you’re not into them. On the plus side, check-out is at noon, and they let me extend it to 1 p.m. (better than most) when I asked to stay until 4 p.m. Overall, it’s a decent hotel. If you can get a room for under $90 a night, it’s worth it.

Service for breakfast was excellent. She cared! Place is becoming dated, but room was clean! Missed not having the pool.
