What an amazing experience I had with the front desk. We arrived late and my husband wasn’t feeling well …PJ at the front desk noticed this and gave us crackers and sent a special “surprise “ of a sweet treat to my niece who was with me! She looked in the bag and was so excited. ESP after traveling from Indiana! This kind of hospitality is what all hotels need! Thank you PJ for making our night and stay great 🥰

I travel to DesMoines for business often and continue to stay at the Home2 Suites by Drake University. The staff ALWAYS remembers me and greats me like a friend. Hats off to Sue, Andrea and Gina for being great. Breakfast being included is a really nice treat, with plenty of options. THANK YOU!

Took my son here for a father/son night out this past Saturday/Sunday (Oct 5/6). It's amazing how much this area has changed; we've stayed at a number of Home2 properties and I think this is my new favorite. First - the property is clean and very well maintained. The location is really great too - it's a quick walk down to Mars Cafe for a great coffee or a 4-minute walk to Black Cat Ice Cream. My son loved the pool and we both really appreciated that it was a salt-water pool. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious with lots of good choices (and DEFINITELY a huge step up from some of the other hotel breakfasts we've had lately). My only complaint/question - I used the app to check in, and picked room 307 because a) my son wanted to be on the 3rd floor and b) it was a close to the pool as we could get. However, when we actually got to the hotel we'd be moved to room 422 - a floor up and WAYYYYYYYYYYY at the end of a very long hallway (and about as far from the pool as we could get). Now some extra exercise is never a bad thing I guess but it was a bit disappointing. This is just a small thing though - we had a great time and can't wait to come back!

Decided to book this hotel for my girlfriend and I’s fourth anniversary. It was in an excellent spot, just around all the places we wanted to visit and shop at. Although, either through a website error or my own foolishness I booked the wrong date. We came in on the correct date and I was a little embarrassed to see I’d booked the wrong date. I should’ve realized sooner and it was my fault so I booked a new room anyways. The manager was very, very nice to have let us get a refund for the missed night. We appreciate what he did for us, as he definitely didn’t need to. The service even before the manager helped us out was great, he made it 10x better. We didn’t use either but the place has a nice looking pool and gym. The breakfast was good. It may not be perfect to everyone’s tastes but it was great for mine. Our room was really clean and tidy. We slept really good. We will definitely consider booking (the correct date this time) for future events or anniversaries. Again, thank you so much to the manager. We appreciate more than you think.

Stayed for a day here and the service was very nice. Greeted with a full on kitchen when you step in your room and the pricing was great for such a nice location. It was roughly 10 minutes away from everything we wanted to go to. I will point out one thing, there were very few spots designed for compact car parking, which is a nice added thing. The reason I'm not super happy with it is because some person clearly didn't know what compact car meant and parked in the small compact spot with a huge SUV, blocking my passenger side door. With no room in between our two cars, I'm quite certain that they had to of scratched or dinged my car. I know this isn't the hotel's fault that people don't know how to read, just thought I should put it out there. I'm just trying to help the hotel be more aware of this issue so they can fix it.

We came up to watch a football game at Drake with little kids and had a great stay! The ice cream shop around the corner is NOT to miss! Huge breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend.

It's unfortunate just in 2 years!!! This hotel went downhill. You've allowed (DOGS) to take over your hotel. Try making one level where you allow dogs and the rest you don't!!! People are allergic to them. And it's also destroys her hotel.

We had a weekend visit with family. Modern, very clean hotel across the street from Drake University. Near some good restaurants and at least one coffee house. Easy to drive around town. We had a suite that slept six with a small kitchen. We really used the fridge and microwave. Fold-out sofa was comfortable for me, with two queen beds. Shower could have used more power. We never tried the breakfast. My middle school nieces liked the indoor pool. Pretty quiet for the most part, but was getting crowded on the weekend. Appreciated the security features, such as no way to access elevators without room key. Staff were very helpful. Easy check in.
