We enjoyed our stay so much (as an overnight stop on our way out to Denver), we cancelled our original booked hotel and stayed once again the following week on the way home.|The lobby is great. The social hour and breakfast better than most. |Rosemae at reception was fantastic. One of the most gracious we have come across. What an asset to the hotel. Lawanya was also so helpful. She made sure we were accomodated during the social hour. We could not have asked for better care.|Would highly recommend this hotel.

The room was great in itself but the heat/air was messed up. We get there and it's blowing 45° cold air out of vent. Maintenance comes up changes it to heat, this was Friday. Saturday we are boiling hot so have them come turn it down a lil bit. By Saturday night/Sunday morning we are freezing. Maintenance is there only at certain hours so we could not change it. Otherwise the food/staff were excellent. We spent Valentines weekend there and went to the Diner Detectives event. Very clean hotel

Great location, nice amenities, great breakfast, good service, nice room layout (except for bathroom door, which opens inconveniently into hallway and blocks access to bedroom). Room could use a refresh: the bed is not great, pillows are small/uncomfortable, shower was a bit "tired" and hard to control water temp; I like the glass panel design, but shower is too short and therefore a lot of water gets out and onto bathroom floor. The room temp controls didn't work for the first day for us (eventually after cycling entire system off for a few hours we got it to work), the furniture is a bit older and not super-comfortable, and our curtains were torn and not light-tight. Would be nice to have some updates to bathroom, like slow-close toilet seat, bathroom fan/ducting, and a nightlight.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Des Moines, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff, and the atmosphere exuded comfort and elegance. One of the standout moments of my stay was the incredible assistance I received from Karen at the front desk. She went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. Karen took the time to answer all my questions, provide recommendations for local attractions, and even helped me navigate the hotel’s amenities. Her friendliness and professionalism made a lasting impression, and I truly appreciate her dedication to outstanding customer service. The hotel itself boasts spacious, beautifully appointed suites that are perfect for both business and leisure travelers. I loved the layout, which provided plenty of room to relax or work. The complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast was a delightful way to start my day, and the evening manager’s reception offered a nice touch to unwind after a busy day. Located conveniently near downtown, I found it easy to explore the local area. The hotel’s proximity to restaurants and attractions allowed me to experience the best of Des Moines without any hassle. In summary, my stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Des Moines exceeded all expectations. The combination of comfortable accommodations, wonderful amenities, and exceptional staff—especially Karen—made for a truly memorable experience. I can't recommend this hotel enough and already look forward to my next visit!

Folks - I've been a Hilton Honors member for many, many years. In all of my years traveling, I have never visited a hotel as disgusting as this hotel. Out of the gate, no parking was available. Upon entering the room, the thermostat was broken. The carpet was filthy, absolutely disgusting. And the shower was ill-designed. The shower was elevated about 8 inches off of the bathroom floor. Being tall, I had to be careful not to knock my head on the ceiling. Second, the shower did not have a shower door and the shower curb sloped toward the open space, meaning the water on the curb ended up on the shower floor. So I had to soak up all of the water on the bathroom floor following a shower. Again, disgusting. I want to give this place zero stars. The only thing nice is the location. Do yourselves a favor, don't stay at this hotel. In response to the manager's response below, let me point out that many others have pointed out the exact same issues that I have brought up, in previous reviews. So, to say that you'll be working on improvements and offering a shallow apology is just that. We all spend our hard-earned money at your hotel. The least you can do is your job, and that means providing an excellent customer service experience! Anyone can put lipstick on a pig!

At check in she was not friendly or informative. Going into the room, bad old smell furniture, old and chipped In restroom still hair from the guest. That was there before sheets, dirty, and not put on correctly dirty windowsills, dirty toilet this place needs to update their rooms for the price that they are charging. I left to go eat came back that night front desk, agent, leaning on the Front Desk counter and chewing out her nails that is totally unprofessional. If it’s slow low forecast, we still should not put our guards down. I guess should be greeted upon entering your hotel. No valet person. Cold breakfast eggs and sausage a little girl went to get eggs and sausage. Going up the stairs she fell plate broke no one in the hotel associates approached that little girl to help her out and no incident report was made. This place should not even be open. I expressed my dissatisfaction the first night I was there. No one approached me and did anything to help me and to make sure that I left happy honestly customer service is lacking through all your associates that work in that place.

We stayed here with family to attend an event at the expo center. It's a very convenient location, great service from the staff and the morning breakfast is pretty good. The rooms are a little dated and could use some upkeep. Saw paint peeling off the ceilings and wallpaper coming off the walls. The shower didn't have a door, so it was hard to keep the floor dry. Had a lot of issues getting into the room initially because of problems with the lock, so that was a bit frustrating. Parking is an extra $25 in the garage, but it sounded like there options outside.

We only stayed one night, but hotel lobby and room were clean. Pool was large. Workout room had all necessary equipment to get a good workout. Breakfast had made to order omlette station, and a good buffet. Room was outdated and showing signs of wear. Good stay and good nights sleep.
