Travelodge by Wyndham Iowa City

My review is based on one Friday night stay. Not too many guests. The quality of furnishings, linens, etc is not off the charts, but the room I was in was very quiet (including the heat/a-c unit and fridge) and very clean. There’s a pool! Within a mile, you can find very good coffee and a park to stretch your legs.

This Travelodge was great. You could tell it had recently had new carpet and paint. The beds were very comfortable. Staff was so friendly. Definitely going to use this motel for future trips to Iowa City. Mark/Marcia

DONT NOT STAY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU HAVE A PET. When you book the room online and choose a pet friendly room, it gives you the rate, which is already more than a regular room. When you arrive at the hotel and check in, they put a pet agreement in front of you and add another $30 to the bill WHICH IS NONNREFUNDABLE. As my husband arrived after a long day of driving and did not want to attempt to find a different room, he paid the fee. My husband and I travel with our fully trained, fully housebroken dog often, and have found many alternative and better establishments that do not charge an extra fee for your pet. In the future, we will never book a room with this company again. And the room was subpar at best.

I've stayed here on numerous occasions for work and most of the time something didn't work or the toilets leaked. Keys and locks are unreliable. Alcohol containers and cigarette packs litter the tree area behind the lot. People live in some of the rooms and have large unfriendly dogs. The Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel is fantastic and recommended. Food and staff are worth stopping.

It’s a small hotel with funny old furniture and carpet. But the front desk was so nice then came helped with the TV because I’m an idiot. The room was very clean and the bed was perfect.

Our family highly recommends Travelodge on Dodge street in IA City. Easy on/off right off main roads. A restaurant is connected making it very convenient when the weather is difficult for walking outside. Good variety for continental breakfast from 6:00-9:00. Easy access to the front desk using text messages. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Good hotel for the money, which is conveniently located. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Rooms are small but adequate for the amount of time we spent there. The breakfast is a nice addition. It would be nice if the the restaurant next door was open later.

Nice and budget friendly, too. A block off I80, so all of IA City is easy to access. Pool, restaurant attached, dog park area.
