Best Western Plus Olathe Hotel

We stayed for 4 nights, and were very pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was your standard continental. The hot tub was out of order, which was a bummer, but the rest of the pool was usable. For the purpose of our stay, visiting family, it was a great location and we will stay again next time we visit the area.

the room was very clean and conveniently near the highway, target, home depot and a bunch of restaurants... the breakfast was good, and the service was excellent and friendly... didn't use the pool, but it was a nice option... so not a bad stay. a few suggestions/comments for the hotel: 1) the rooms need a clock of some kind... not necessarily a clock radio, but something large enough to glance at. 2) get coffee supplies that include stirrers for the creamer/sugar. 3) the ironing board in my room was broken and wouldn't stay up... had to iron my suit on the bed, which didn't work very well. 4) the lamp in the sitting area didn't work.

I was booked a 2 night stay while I completed orientation at Jett Trucking. Check-in was very quick and easy. My room is very nice. Large bed, plenty of lighting, clean, with a fairly decent sized TV. There is also a desk and lamp for performing business, writing, laptop, or whatever. There is also a living room of sorts with an additional and larger television. The bathroom is large with a modern sink, pretty cool looking. Breakfast is free everyday, there's a pool, laundry room, gym, and a lounge to sit and relax should you choose. McDonald's is on one side, Wendy's on the other, next to it is a gas station. It's a pleasant hotel to stay in and in a great location.

The first thing we noticed was how unfriendly the young lady was when we went to check in. I was having trouble understanding her because she was not speaking clearly. I asked her to repeat herself and she acted as if she were offended. There were a couple of times We went down and out of the hotel while she was there and she seemed to be more interested in her cell phone than anything else. We were very surprised by how dirty this hotel was. There was a layer of dust on the side tables by the beds. Only one of the lamps by the bed worked and the light was so dim you couldn't even read by it. The bathroom light was out and needed to be changed. The air conditioner sounded very loud as well. It was almost as if no one had been in that room for a long time and so no one had been in there to check on it before someone new stayed in it. We just thought of they are not taking care of the small things, what big things are they not caring about. We will not go back.

There is construction going on the road leading into the hotel which makes coming and going a little frustrating, but that's definitely not the hotels fault. Staff have been great, our room has been cleaned exceptionally every day, the bed is comfortable, and breakfast is, well, typical hotel continental breakfast. I will say walls are thin, and doors slam loud and hard when closing. This is our 2nd time staying here, and no major complaints.

Whomever is posting great reviews must have stayed at a different location. We stayed here last weekend and the level of disappointment I have is one I haven't experienced at a hotel in a long time. I SPECFICIALLY chose this hotel because of the hot tub. Long day of volleyball equals girls wanting to relax their muscles. NOPE, not here! I even called a few days prior to staying to ask 1. do you still have a hot tub (knowing that many hotels are now getting rid of them but not updating their website info) and 2. IS IT WORKING! The answer was yes to both. We get to the hotel after a long 10 hour day in a gym to find a room that smelled like body odor. The people we were staying with said the rooms upstairs smelled like curry. We spray some body spray and figure we can make it work for the 12 hours we're going to be there. The girls head to the hot tub where they found a non-working hot tub with cold water. The pool water was literally warmer than the hot tub. We ask the not so friendly front desk attendant who assured us all we had to do was push the button on the wall. Yep, didn't work. And the pool, so cloudy I was to skeptical to get in it. If I didn't make this room for 3 other families as well, I would have packed up and left! The only positive was the breakfast was decent and the room "seemed" clean other than the smell which really, how clean can it be if it smells like body odor? I asked for the managers number and was told she doesn't have one but instead gave me a card with a gmail address for the manager. I emailed that night. Now 3 days later, still no response from the manager. Not even a sorry you were disappointed. DO NOT STAY HERE! Plenty of other nice hotels in the area.

Positive: The free breakfast was THE BEST we have EVER had - wonderful stuff and lots of it! And we got up late, so we were ESPECIALLY grateful that they let us in to eat late. So glad for that! Negative: Nope - if we get back in the area again, we will come back!

Have to admit that this was our first stay at a Best Western Plus, and we were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is fairly new and conveniently located off several main thoroughfares. Check in was seamless and fast. The room was very comfortable, especially since this was a short, overnight stay to get back on the road early the next morning. We loved the refrigerator because it was oversized and actually had a tiny freezer where we could refreeze our cooler packs. There was a McDonald’s and Wendy’s as well as gas station within walking distance. The only down side was the towels: We were only allotted two full bath towels, they were super thin and appeared not to be cleaned very well. In reading other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing complaint at this hotel. We stayed at another Best Western Plus in Birmingham, Ala., and the towels were plentiful, clean and fluffy. Other than that, it was a decent night’s stay.
