Motel 6 Duluth, MN

This was not the fanciest. But would stay there again! 10/10 recommend! Although we saw some sketchy guests/customers. I would stay there again! That is what I expected for the price. I will say for what I paid a night during an extremely busy season, I got a very clean and adequate room.The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I never felt unsafe. And it was way more quiet than some of the high end places we’ve stayed in Duluth!

It's not bad for the type of hotel. I have felt safe, there are some folks that stay there that are sadly struggling with some behavioral health conditions. But, that's my career so I don't mind as I feel for folks and understand they are people first and foremost. Mind your business and you will be fine. Location isn't bad. It's pretty close to a bunch of different restaurants and bars. And some cute little shops. This is all within walking distance. And it is literally in the back parking lot of the Duluth Grill!

As far as Motel 6 go, this one is actually pretty nice! As of fall 2024, our room was fairly recently remodeled and had yet to be destroyed by cretins. I've never ever stayed at a Motel 6 that didn't have some sort of issue before, it was remarkable. The linens were clean, the mattress was good, clean bathroom, new mini fridge and microwave. The receptionist was warm and friendly as well. Cannot beat the price for the location, we took our dogs to a brewery nearby, one of a couple within easy walking distance. First and only M6 I'd ever voluntarily go back to!

no frills but the stay was worth the price. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, shower pressure good. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Location was perfect for us to bike to Canal Park area on close by bike trail. Would stay again if didn't want extra comforts and amenities.

Ancient building, extremely poor lighting on the exterior, and even inside in the hallways. Couldn't even tell if it was open from the exterior upon arrival. Once we entered the building, there was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke amd pot. Three police officers also entered and went to deal with whatever event was occurring upstairs. The room was disgusting. Room had a stench that's hard to describe. Floor and bathroom were still dirty from the prior occupants.

Okay so, I guess you get what you paid for. The bed was a brick and the mattress was mortifying. We got there early and we checked to see if maybe the room was open a bit early, but they said it was being cleaned. They gave us an option to take an early check in room for an added 25.00. Which is funny because the room wasn't clean. At all. There is a long time build up of mold and just crust in the shower. And our floors were beyond filthy. I happened to just test and wipe the floor with a wet towel and the result is in the pictures. I ended up doing the whole floor. I took the towels from the front desk, where the attendant was on her phone in a corner hiding. We heard her phone and so we said somthing. When I told her what has been happening her response was a, "What do you want me to do about it." With a tone. At no point was I escalated but I was firm in my frustration. We were offered another room but frankly I just cleaned the floors in that room I didn't want to have to do it again. Never again. Cheap doesn't have to mean dirty guys, this was LONG term build up. I don't have a picture of the wipes used as well but ypu catch the drift.

Worse possible mattress for your back. The room itself was fine for a motel stay and was clean but the bed is just a mattress on a table and the most unforgiving, stiffest mattress I’ve ever slept on. I have one more night and I’m dreading it

Positive: The location was perfect for the event I was attending and the staff was friendly and helpful. Negative: The bed was very hard. I realize that is personal preference. I also had difficulty getting the room temperature to be cool and not cold.
