The Inn on Gitche Gumee

We loved our stay! The rooms are spacious, cozy & well appointed, and we're thrilled with the inclusion of small ovens & stoves; we enjoy easing into our day with our coffee and breakfast as we overlook the beautiful Big Lake with the gas fireplace going. Quiet, off the beaten path - yet still close to other nature opportunities as well as visiting town/ Canal Park. Truly perfect! The owners seem great also - and very responsive if you need anything. Fab getaway!

Great location! Gorgeous views. Cozy interiors & Friendly owner! We had a girls trip last weekend and this stay was the best mom-cation EVER. The drive up from the Twin Cities was easy - and the location of Gitche Gumme is so easy. We had a college roommate reunion and stayed in two cabins next door to each other. Both cabins were so, so, so cozy! Mine had an awesome fireplace and the best pull out sofa I've ever slept on. We loved sitting around the fireplace with glasses of wine. We went for dinner at Scenic Cafe and YUM. It was right up the road and just so awesome. In the morning we had great coffee in the cute mugs provided & enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Superior. This stay was everything we wanted and more! Super clean, super convenient, super friendly, and extra cozy! Don't hesitate.

This stay was awesome! It has so many great reviews for a reason. We were staying for a mom's night away - and it was so relaxing. The views are gorgeous and the property owner is so friendly. We ate at Scenic Cafe right up the road and enjoyed spending time in the room after just having wine by the fireplace. I would stay again no question!

We recently got a chance to stay here, it was amazing. A short drive from Duluth, great dining spots and attractions along the way. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to this area.

The inn keepers did an amazing job at making it an amazing stay. It was cozy, comfortable and clean. They were quick to respond to a concern we had and made it right. Looking forward to staying there in the future

First time staying here. Found it on Google Maps. We stayed in the Okabena Suite. It is a cute rustic room. Perfect for two people. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchenette was well equipped but the big pluses are it is pet friendly and the view of Lake Superior is spectacular!! The only down side is there is no table and chairs to eat at, but we made it work. However, this hotel is doing some renovations. We will most definitely stay here again. It's worth it!!!

We loved staying in the wolves den room! We brought our puppy and it was perfect. The only issue we had was trying to cook with the stainless steel pans. Everything stuck to it so next time we will bring our Blackstone or griddle! Other than that we loved staying there! The sunrise was beautiful to see! We will definitely be there again!

This was my 3rd time staying at the Inn on Gitche Gumee. (This time was the Hideout, with the jetted tub!) While I was slightly disappointed to see the office/gift shop is gone, the grounds and location were still impressive as ever. Sunday when we were packing up - there was a deer right by our car, right by the totem pole in the back! The coffee provided in your room is very yummy as well. Don't hesitate to book here - you'll enjoy it!
