NillMy parents and my family and I go up every summer! We love making this our yearly vacation spot! Great bonding! Love our fires, the lapping of the beautiful Lake Superior! We reserve every year prior, however past couple years our reservation is always up for debate or loss, we love making memories here so I hope they have the reservations in check! The log books/diary was a hit for our family but they recently took them out. I hope they bring them back it's always nice to see other families enjoy the cabin we were in. I always, always, always refer my friends and family and even my medical doctors, nurses and co-workers here! So they may enjoy it! Thank you for the memories and hopefully more to come!

NillA few small things wrong with the cabin. But overall it was great. And the view is amazing. The cabin says for 4 people.... The number of plates and bowls was 3 of each or less. So bring your own. They provide the fire wood. I will definitely be back. *There is no cell service out there. Drive the 5 min north to the casino to get WiFi.

NillFirst, I want to say how much we LOVE coming here with our young kids. They've been as young as 2 weeks and old as 9 years since we've gone. We love that there is no cell service, it makes you have that bonding time we all need. Playing games, fires, hiking, and sightseeing. We love waking up and going to bed with the sunsets and lapping of Lake Superior. But, the last year we were there was awful! It was awful because of the staff that run the cabins. We arrived around 4pm and unloaded groceries and that we brought. About 9pm we went to grab a drink from the frig and it wasn't cold, which at that point should have. My husband checked out the refrigerator and dicovered the surge protect outlet wasnt working. He reset it but it kept blowing (even when we unplugged other appliances). Plugged the refrig into the bedroom outlet around the corner and needing to move the refrigerator to do so. We tried using the landline to call the resort to let them know and we needed someone to come look at it. Landline didn't work. We had to run to the casino to talk with anyone. He said it would be a while. We also let them know the landline didn't work and they didnt seem shocked or care about it. About 10/1030pm maintenance showed up. It started to cool at that point since it was plugged in the bedroom. He then ran to get a thermometer to stick in the refrigerator. He said temp was fine but he'd be back in the morning to check it out. Mind you in the meantime we ask if we could put our food in an empty cabin for the night or grab a refrigerator from an empty cabin so we didn't lose hundreds of dollars of food and have to grab more. Front desk said no because people were moving in the next day (at 4pm mind you)and that wouldn't be right to give them the bad refrigerator (but it was okay for us then and there). We assumed we or they might get one the next day so we didn't see it as a big deal but the lodge did. Food did fine overnight plugged into the bedroom. We didn't go and hike anywhere that day expecting the maintenance guy to show up. We ran up to the casino after lunch to see what was going on and they said he'd be there. NEVER showed up that day. No one moved into two empty cabins that day either! Run up the next morning to see what was going on and asked if we could be moved to another cabin or get a new refrigerator, we were told no, even though the circuit kept popping anytime something needed to be plugged into the kitchen. I could go on about this but in the end nothing was ever done. We were lucky our food never did spoil, and there was no comp or reduced pricing for having to deal with all of that. The desk said they couldn't authorize it but the manager could. The "manger" was "gone" the entire time we were there. They gave me his phone number and he never called us back despite our multiple attempts to call him. I then tried contacting the chairman, enterprise administration and tribal council to talk about our experience and no one reached back out to us. A simple acknowledgement and apology would have gone a long way but that wasn't even done. Needless to say we did not go back the following year because of this situation.

NillDirty room, blood stained pillows and used food left. The freezer stunk really bad. Beds are terrible. The couch was so worn out it wasn't good sitting on. No ac. Overall very poor housekeeping. No wifi, no tv service and very little cell service. Location is nice for a water view

NillA fantastic natural setting on the north shore of lake Superior. The cabins are rustic. That is not a negative. They are fully furnished and clean. The wife and I enjoyed our stay. We cannot wait to come back here. This morning we watched the sunrise over hollow rock. We were joined by other photographers wanting to see and capture images of this great location.be sure to check this place out.

NillCabins are barely clean. Could use a real cleansing. You must go to Grand Lodge Casino to check in and receive your keys. Side note. The Grand Portage Casino is the only place to eat once you drive through Grand Marais.

NillThis was a great place to stay. We stayed there before going to Isle Royale. The cabin we stayed in was rustic but very comfortable. I had the best sleep there on our entire vacation. Come prepared. It's a pretty remote place. You should get groceries at Grand Marais (if you are coming from the south.). All in all, it was awesome. I wish we'd had more time to enjoy it.
