Holiday Inn Express Roseville-St. Paul by IHG

I can't say enough positive comments regarding my stay at this hotel. While I did not mean to be a high maintenance customer I realize I was. They meet every request with a positive "can do" attitude. Beds were very comfortable, pillows were new, fresh, I slept like a baby. The room was spotless! I was not afraid to hold the channel changer. Breakfast was actually good, Great variety of fruit and it was also fresh, I never see that in my travels with other hotels I travel by car across the USA. I will be switching my hotel preferences to Holiday Inn because of this great stay. The front desk made me feel valued. THANK YOU!

Checking in was not a good experience. The person first told me that I didn't have a reservation. Then when I gave him my confirmation number he told me that I was a day late in checking in and went back in forth with me about whether Thursday, April 3rd or not. Then he stood there and told me, "well your phone, google or a watch is available". He was very snarky, unprofessional and disrespectful. Then once I pulled out my calendar on my phone and showed him that Thursday was April 3rd and I booked the reservation 4 hours prior to checking in and that he was wrong, he told me that the reason he couldn't find my reservation is because if you book a reservation on the same day, it doesn't show up on your front desk computer system automatically. After finding my reservation, he didn't recognize me as an IHG Rewards Club Member. He then started giving me compliments on my jewelry and calling me some name in his first language that I didn't understand why or why he wasn't using my provided name. When I asked for my key he then told me that he already gave it to me. I told him that he only asked how many keys I wanted and that I didn't even know what room I was in so in fact he did not give me a key. He gave me my key and didn't tell me what floor I was on, what floor the pool and gym was on, the hours and location of breakfast, nor what time checkout was. It was an overall annoying and disrespectful experience. I will not be booking at this location again and will be sure to leave a google review as well recommending other local hotels for folks to go to in the area. He also gave me a key to a double room even though my reservation paid for a single queen bed which I didn't make an issue about. The room itself was satisfactory. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone even if they want to be close to Rosedale Mall.

Used my IHG points to visit my daughter who is attending UMN- this place was much better than the place we stayed at (nearby) where the check-in desk was literally 5 feet from the banquet hall blaring dance music for a wedding. That place had maybe 2 elevators and the service was awful. THIS PLACE had super quick elevators, was quiet, clean, had friendly staff and fit my needs perfectly. This is not a "luxury hotel" but I don't sense that is what it was designed for. It is for people traveling for family visits, sports, etc. Highly recommend and can't beat the price- I love IHG hotels, always a great experience.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! The manager “Theresa Martinez” will change your reservation and move your things out of your room without any notice or consent. Me and my family checked into this Holiday Inn with a reservation extending from Friday night to Sunday morning. We left Saturday to do our outing and hoping to come back to our room 509 for a nights rest. Upon arriving to our room. Our key cards were denied access and me and my family hearing someone else in OUR ROOM! We immediately went down to the front desk to ask why there was a stranger in our room and if our reservation changed. The front desk worker said THE MANAGER “Theresa Martinez” changed our reservation to checkout Saturday night instead of Sunday morning giving our room away to another customer. The front desk worker said he tried calling us and was unable to reach us. We showed him our phone calls list and my family did not receive or miss calls from any Holiday Inn Express in Roseville- St Paul. Our things were moved out of room 509 without our knowledge or consent, mind you with my wife’s wedding ring inside our room! At the end of the day we were moved to a new room with just a little deduction from our stay. Why did the manager have the audacity to change our reservation without any explanation or communication to us!?! Make it make sense. IT DOESNT! We filed a report to corporate and waiting for a direct call from the manager. Again the manger is Theresa Martinez. Do not book here. Go somewhere else. They do not have mangers working on the weekends which you can not speak to anyone higher than a front desk worker until Monday.

My room was cleaned pretty well (aside from coffee grounds on counter top). Bathroom was very clean. Hallways were bright and well-lit. Breakfast was well-stocked. Finding an ice machine that worked was tricky - I traveled several floors down and I eventually found one. Parking is difficult to find. It's a busy area because of industrial businesses adjacent (semis, trucks, etc).

Pros: Easy 15 minute drive to downtown Minneapolis on a Saturday morning. The hallways were bright and well-lit. Bathrooms were CLEAN, and plenty of towels were provided. There were some coffee grounds spilled on the counter top, but no other issues. Breakfast was well-stocked. Cons: It was tricky finding parking at 10:00 pm. I doubt there are enough spaces if the hotel is truly full. The area was industrial/business, so I could hear various noises from semis and other trucks, even later at night. (Parking, backing up, loading etc.) It's just the location, so know that and bring ear plugs if you would be bothered by it. Also, Ice machines did not work in the top 2 floors, but I kept traveling down a level until I found one.

Rooms could use some upgrading. Only one place to hang towels in restroom and no hooks on the doors. Loading dock was right outside our room which made it hard to sleep with the constant beeping vehicles (eg the backing up sound). Walls were thin and could easily hear into other rooms and hallways. Staff was kind. Breakfast had average options but was fine. Pool and weight room appeared outdated. Stay was ok- not exceptional not bad. Great price and free parking. Easy to get to nearby food, grocery, stores, fitness centers, twin cities, etc.

Positive: Front desk staff was very efficient and helpful. I was impressed with the cleaning staff. So many hotels don?t bother to refresh your towels or make your beds during a stay of three days. Negative: The parking was crowded.
