Country Inn

This motel is a must stay for birders of the Sandhill Cranes. It is extremely close to Row Sanctuary and thus a big plus if you have a 6 a.m. blind reservation. After sitting in the cold blind for 2 hrs, you will want a piping hot shower with great massaging pressure. Country Inn is THE MOTEL for this shower pampering! We had a full size 12 cup coffee pot to make a full thermos of coffee. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly AND accomodating. The room heater worked great! The beds were very comfortable. This is a BIG plus for a person like me who has chronic back pain. (I've had back surgery so I really appreciate a good bed.) The room was quite clean. (That's saying something since cleaning is my business!) And on top of all this the rooms were half price compared to other motels. My family will definitely use this motel for all our sandhill crane expiditiions from now on. Yes it is a old hotel, but who cares when you are looking for a comfortable bed to close your eyes in!

If you look at the surroundings it feels A little sketchy. Walls are paper thin and my nose burned from cigarette smell. Very simple room, a little old but clean and the bed was comfy. There was no food or snacks available which was a bummer. Luckily I had things in the car

I was working in Kearney for a few weeks and decided to stay here. It was considerably cheaper than anywhere else near there. The room had a fridge and microwave. The internet did not work well in the room that I got most of the time. I had a different room for a couple nights and it was fine there. The owner seemed like a pretty nice guy and I got a good deal. My bed was acceptable not terrific. If I go back to Kearney, I am planning to stay here again.

We booked this hotel because hotel in North Platte and every small town after was booked. We found Country in online and were desperate.This hotel was VERY run down. There was a back seat of a car used as a bench outside the door of the room. Everything in the room was very old including the mattresses. When I sat on them it was like sitting on a trampoline. The only redeeming quality to the room was that it appeared that the sheets and bedding were new and the bath towels were clean. The pictures look nicer than the rooms. My husband said the owner was very nice. I guess for $50 a night I should not expect much.

This motel is run by a Chinese family. They have very good rates, but the rooms are basic. No soap or shampoo or coffee pot. They DO have a comfortable bed, good heating and lots of hot water. Their location is a plus since they are only about 3 miles from Rowe Sanctuary. So, if you have an early morning blind appointment, this is great.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. I'm sure I have bugs crawling on me still hours after and after having taken a shower. I found it necessary to wear my sandals into the shower for fear of catching something. There was also black mold in the shower, which the liner was cracked in many places. The way that the rooms were decorated was very scary and made me think of a VERY cheap pornography movie. The bed was like sleeping in a taco and is probably close to 30 years old. The sheets and pillows smelled like they had previously caught on fire, and then very musty as well. The door frame on my room was previously busted from someone kicking down the door, it looks like they glued it and painted over the glue. The people in the surrounding area made me really feel like I was living in a horror movie, especially with the run down trailer park next door to the extremely run down hotel. For whatever the price difference it is worth it to go to a different hotel. I do not know how the other two people could rate it so highly, I would surely bet money that the hotel has been flooded multiple times. Star rating I gave it one star because you'd not get the idea for a zero star and think i forgot to do it. ZERO STARS!

The Rowe Sanctuary is 4 miles, or 10 minutes from the Country Inn Motel. We arrived in the afternoon, went to our night viewing at the Rowe Sanctuary, then drove into Kearney and ate dinner. We got up at 5:30 am for our dawn viewing at Rowe Sanctuary; came back and took warm showers before leaving. ||The rooms were clean, the heaters worked well, and the beds were comfortable. The biggest plus, they only cost $41.99. Do not be scared off by other reviews, this motel is a bargain when you only stay in the room while you are sleeping.

I've stayed here before and did a favorable review to offset the folks that were put off by the place. This month, my stay was less pleasant. Thin walls and noise from battling couple in the room next door had a lot to do with my impressions this time. This is one of the cheapest places along I-80, so don't expect much. The place is clean. ||||I left early in the morning and enjoyed hearing the neighbors' rooster crowing. Rare to hear anymore when you stay in motels anywhere in the US!
