★★★The property is basically fine, but is in need of some work - some of which would not be overly expensive to do. Like the grime near the bottom of the bathroom door, the mildew in the corners of the shower and stains in the toilet bowl could be solved with a good scrubbing with bleach. The carpeting in the halls and lobby look really old - perhaps a deep shampooing would help, new carpet would make it feel much fresher. Some of the furniture in both the room and common areas have chips or tears in the upholstery - repairing or replacing these would help a lot. There was a floor lamp in my room that was clearly broken or loose from the base, and the TV was very dated. Also...not a single USB port anywhere in the room, and the AC outlets on the bedside lamps cannot accommodate an Apple computer charger. On the brighter side, the layout of the room is good, the bed decent. The light bulbs were very nice - seems like a small thing, but warm lighting makes such a difference - I've stayed in hotels (including IHG hotels) that had cold, dreadful lighting, and it looked like someone was replacing lightbulbs when I was there - I hope any bulb replacement project keeps this in mind. The breakfast was good, the staff was pleasant and the gym in very good condition. And though I didn't use it, the pool looked clean and nice.

NillWhen planning a procedure at Brian East hospital, it was requested by my physician to stay in town for the night. After driving to Lincoln the morning of the procedure it took an extra 45 minutes to arrive at the hospital at 5 AM in a snowstorm I decided not to argue the point for that night’s stay in the city. I was glad that I had made the reservation at the SouthWest Holiday Inn Express . It was convenient and close to the highway that I needed to get onto to head back home the next morning, when trying to avoid another snowstorm and a lot of city traffic on icy and snowpack streets. We arrived at the Holiday Inn Before check-in time. I explained that with the snowstorm and slick streets, we just wanted to come inside even if the room wasn’t ready we would be glad to wait in the lobby. Nelson Explained a few things about the hotel and told me don’t worry we have your room ready and you can go on in and make yourself comfortable. After getting to our room and sitting for a few minutes to relax and eating our sandwiches that we had picked up, we headed back down to buy some bottled water and a few snacks in the convenience Center. Nelson checked us out, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and we really appreciated his good service. We checked out the next morning after having our free breakfast, which was a well stocked express breakfast better than some that I have seen at other Holiday Inn Express hotels. The breakfast staff greeted us with a smile and kept the buffet line stocked. The hotel is a little older, but clean with the friendly staff. It could use a bit of freshening up new paint and wallpaper, but for the convenience and the good service, it was a great place to get out of the storm and spend the night. I would definitely stay there again if the need arises.

★★★I get the opportunity to visit many IHG properties. My experiences are normally above average to very good. My experience at this property was not at that level. This is not a bad site!! It is a low cost hotel and the experience was appropriate for the site. First, the staff was pleasant and professional! The team preparing the breakfast offering did an excellent job!! The room was reasonably clean. It showed it age. The bed and bedding were very comfortable! The "accessible " bathroom met the very basic definition. The drain in the floor of the bathroom was making the bathroom smell terrible. My expectations for an IHG site are normally pretty high. Will I use this site again? No, I will choose another location.

NillMy wife and I stayed here over Thanksgiving. We were greeted at the front desk by Nelson - and what a warm person!! He always made sure there was fresh coffee in the evening, was friendly, and very helpful with anything we needed. The rooms are spacious, clean and the breakfast warm. Will be staying here again.

★★Positive: Nice! Location great nice breakfast. but not good service upon arrival Negative: I had three rooms reserved for 2 days and two different desk attendants could only find 1 of the rooms. It took almost an hour for them to find the reservations and they said they were full and cause us terrible anxiety With out of town family

★★★★★First visit to Lincoln, NE & the area. We were there for an appointment & the hotel was less than a mile away. Booking the stay was fast & easy. We arrived late in the evening due to the drive was over 4 hours. Staff was friendly and polite. Asked if we needed any help & even offered suggestions for eating that late in the evening. Room was very clean and tidy. Bed was soft and room was the perfect temp in order to sleep well. The next morning breakfast was warm and ready. Wide varied of warm and cold options. Check out was easy and staff was always polite and even offered us water for the road.

★★The general upkeep of the Hotel was lacking. The swimming pool room couldn't be opened with room key, there were holes in the closet doors, and the handle fell partially off during use. Swimming pool water was heated, which was nice. Staff seemed generally miserable and tended to communicate in a 'check the corporate boxes' fashion. This tends not to be the fault of the staff, and is usually indicative of poor management. There are additional charges onto my credit card that should not be there, which I now need to call the Hotel to investigate. One appears to be a Hold, but I'm not sure what the additional charge is. I do not recommend this Hotel.

★★★★★Breakfast was very good every day, consisting of omelets and breakfast meat, baked goods, bagels, etc. Coffee was readily available in multiple locations which was nice. The gym was excellent. There was lots of room, a variety of machines, plenty of free weight, and even had yoga mats and bands to stretch out. Very rare you’ll find a cable machine in a hotel gym!
