Super 8 by Wyndham Lincoln West

We just stopped here to get some sleep on our long drive back to Florida. I saw lots of negative reviews so I thought I’d just set the record straight. For the price point, you can’t beat it. The room was clean. It’s dated, but it was perfectly acceptable. I will say the air conditioning/heating window unit is VERY loud when it came on, but we were so tired we zoned it out and it didn’t bother us at all but if you’re a very light sleeper this might be a problem for you. Our daughter loved the pancake conveyor belt when she had breakfast. For people upset about the incidental charge, that is 100% normal at at hotel/motel, and I’m confused as to why you would give a negative review for that. This motel does allow dogs for a $25 fee. We had our dog with us, and had no issue with that fee. We would stay here in the future if we’re driving through and need a place to crash.

We were here just for the night on our way elsewhere. Bed was comfy; ac worked well. Even in March! Some places turn it off. There's no lotion, so bring your own. Easy on and off. Breakfast was acceptable. It's enough to get you going. It had what we needed to start our day.

I don't understand the low ratings by some. For a 2 star rated hotel, I give it 5 stars. By today's standards, reasonably priced, clean, and a coffee pot. The front desk couldn't have been more friendly and helpful to me. Not a Hilton, but beyond my expectations after reading some negative reviews.

Do not stay here! Insanly rude guy at front desk! Place is dark, smells musty & smokey, rooms not inspected or cleaned! Last night I showed up for room #106. As i first entered i heard water dripping, room was flooded, water pouring down from ceiling light, drenched wallpaper falling off walls, drywall all over the floors. Worst part was their horrible customer serve! When confronted, this guy at the front desk said "No problem here, we just move you to room next door" ...umm NO!!! He even started yelling at me though I'm the customer in middle of this horrible situation stating he should be the one upset because it's his property...umm you gave me this uninspected room which was obviously leaking for days. He finally refunded my credit card and I couldn't get outta there fast enough! Never again super 8!!!

Car was broken into - no surprise - and what they stole wasn't expensive (sentimental), but they were large, heavier items, so this wasn't an attack of opportunity by some transient walking by. This was either an inside (employee) job, or someone that trolls that parking lot regularly; however, based on the reviews I doubt it was someone that hunts that lot. I think it was an employee that had a storage room or vehicle to stash the items, because when I told the front desk guy what happened his response was 'Oh.' So... guess he wasn't surprised. We checked in at almost 1am Sat. 2/1, and checked out about six hours later, so not a huge window for theft... unless you work there. The room setup was good, but the cleanliness was... yikes! :O Crime scene in the bathroom maybe, or a feces party? I don't know wtf was on the wall, and the door looked like it was bleach-washed. See photos. On the way back we'll try our luck in Davenport and skip Lincoln.

I came in after 14 hours of rough driving and was so tired I could barely stand. I became impatient and the staff were so kind and understanding, it made my day. You guys are doing a great job fixing that place up and it's the only place I'll stay in Lincoln from now on.

The experience was good till the following morning, my buddy got stereotyped by the owner, just because he has a long beard, they thought he was homeless, and he got told to leave the property. I will never be going there again. People need to learn not to stereotype people on how they look.

The staff is nice. The room doesn't have a tub. The shower curtain sucks into the shower onto you, which is weird and feels terrible. The shampoo, soap and conditioner are dispensed from a dispenser that dispenses very, very little at a time. You'll be pushing the button an annoying amount of times. The window doesn't open so it gets stuffy. There is an AC unit that comes on when it wants to. There is no way to turn it on or off or adjust the temperature. I was told I can get up and plug it in or unplug it which is frustrating and stupid. So I asked for a blanket. She didn't bring it. I had to call an hour and a half later. She finally brought a sheet and acted scared of everything including the AC unit. I wouldn't stay here again.
