★★★★★We stayed at the Den at Bearhurst. It is a beautiful cottage, with plenty of space (we were 5, but can sleep up to potentially 9 people). Very clean!!! The beds are very comfortable… my daughter said the bed was more comfortable than her own bed at home. :) Everything looks newly renovated inside. I loved the outdoor screened in patio, especially when it was raining. We sat there and read our books, very relaxing. We took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards 3 out of the 5 days we were there. The water is a 3 minute walk from the Den, a beautiful path to get to the water. The fire pit was great!! Plenty of wood available to use. Cherry Creek, where you can fish or watch the sunset, is just a walk down the road from the Den, or can be paddled to by kayak or paddle board in less than 5 minutes. Diana Armstrong was kind, very responsive and helpful when he had questions. Would recommend the hike to Echo Cliff on Panther Mountain, great hike. Took us just over 1 hour round trip. We also did the walk to Colonel Peck’s grave right from the Den… very nice trail and walk. The only constructive thing I can think of to say is that the cottage is right on the main road with cars driving by fast so would be careful with small children. An overall wonderful vacation and beautiful place to stay!! I would definitely recommend staying here and will definitely return!!

NillWe've stayed here 2 times. We love it here. The cabins are fully furnished, kitchens are stocked and the bathrooms are very nice. The lake waters are clean. There is unlimited use of canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. The huge dock on the lake is perfect for lounging. Great spot to watch the sunset. Lots of information on hikes, canoe trips and general things to do are in a binder in every cabin. We will be back again.

★★★★★This is the second time we've stayed at Bearhurst. Our first stay was in the Icehouse. This recent trip was in Cubhurst. Both cottages are well stocked with everything you need. We've seen the inside to all the cottages and all are very nice. The property is quiet, well kept and gives you a sense of true Adirondack life. We loved the free use of several canoes, kayaks and Paddleboards that are on the property. There is a very nice swimming spot and a beautiful concrete deck to watch the sunset. They provide a nice binder of local information and sections on fishing, hiking, etc... Satellite TV (which we used maybe for a hour the entire trip) and WiFi. There is a nice charcoal grill on the deck, a picnic table and two chairs... The pictures are from our most recent visit. This place is beautiful.

NillAbsolutely beautiful and peaceful private setting on Lake Pleasant. Cabins are very clean, well stocked Family owned and friendly. If you run out of time sitting lakeside, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or paddleboarding ( provided to guests), , there are mountain biking trails, and lots of hiking in the area. Beautiful area to vacation.

★★★★★My wife and stayed, again, in "The Icehouse," the only one of the rental cottages fitted for year-round stays -- it has heat, as well as a wood-burning stove. Since our last stay, they re-did the bathroom and the kitchen -- adding a great stove and dishwasher. We stayed in late July, and while the week was rainy, when we couldn't make it to the many easy and beautiful hikes nearby, we were happy to stay in our cabin on Lake Pleasant, either reading, playing cards, or watching DVDs we brought with us. (We could have asked to borrow one of the many DVDs available at the main house, which is a beautiful 1894 Adirondack lodge.) There are chaises on the dock, kayaks and canoes available for guests, and a roped-off swimming area. We think it's unique -- as is the area, with more of a real town feel than many Adirondack towns, and with a Manhattan-quality restaurant nearby: Melody Lodge, where we had three superb dinners. No meals here -- this is neither a hotel nor a B&B -- but a quite a few options for breakfast, lunch and dinner minutes away. We'll definitely come back here again!

★★★★★Had a wonderful 2 night stay in the Icehouse cottage. All the amenities and beautiful scenery you can imagine. Very cozy, quiet, and only a 5 minute drive to town. Very friendly and helpful proprietor Diana with picturesque sunrises. Read the guest booklet they provide for detailed places and things to do in the area. Restaurants in town were good, but rustic in nature.

★★★★★My husband and I needed a place to stay while traveling from Michigan to Vermont. I never expected to find such a unique, beautiful destination. Since it was the beginning of October, the colors were at their peak, so that didn't hurt, but the whole compound was so well kept up. It was like going back in time. It was so quiet and peaceful. The main log cabin was unreal with its authentic furniture and charm. Our cabin was perfect for the two of us, but you could fit four if needed. Since we only stayed the one night, I didn't need to use the kitchen, but it looked well stocked. You do need to bring your own hairdryer and soap, however (which I didn't and had to go into town to purchase). I would definitely recommend this resort to anybody. I hope to return someday.
