Hampton Inn Suites Cincinnati West

I've stayed at this property in the past and it was fine. I've stayed at Hilton properties for 30 years on and off... Tonight was a new one for me. Upon check in I noticed that my room was overwhelmed by cheap fragrance. The kind that gives me a head ache. I didn't put my bags in the room and went back down to the desk to get a different room. Someone was probably smoking in the room I was given and housekeeping tried to cover it up with a ton of cheap fragrance. I could smell it in the hallway before I even opened the door... Unfortunately the front desk person was poorly trained and had to call for help on how to switch a room. The hotel was not busy. She just needed some help. So 30 minutes later there was no help and she asked me to just " deal with it till morning"...I canceled the rest of my stay and will be going to a different property tomorrow. The hotel is also having problems with guests damaging the hotel. They have started adding a 150 fee to each stay. This fee is eventually refundable if you don't damage the room. This should tell you much about the property... The hotel itself is still very new looking. The staff are friendly but obviously need more training. This hotel offers economical rates. I also noticed construction equipment outside my window in the lot beside the hotel. Be aware of that... Overall, for me it was not worth it. Good luck here....

We've stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites before, but something is "off" about this place now. It's a newer hotel, but it's got some odd things about it I must have missed before. Never noticed the main light for the bathroom isn't IN the bathroom itself, but the light switch by the door as you enter the room. Weird. It's inconvenient that the water temperature adjustment for the shower is opposite from the shower head. You have to stand in the shower before adjusting the temperature, so be prepared to get wet, cold, or scalded before you get it right. The parking lot wasn't completely plowed of snow. The big problem was the stinkbug crawling up the wall in the room which I killed with some cologne. When I showed the picture of the bug to the desk clerk she could not have been more indifferent. She didn't even say she was sorry for the unpleasantness. That's all I need to know to decide the next time we book a hotel in Cincinnati, this one won't be a consideration. Shame because it used to be a nice place to stay, but if the staff doesn't care neither do I any longer.

The hotel is great. Nice location. . I was a little worried due to all of the bad reviews. The lady checking us in was friendly( she didn’t have a name badge on so can’t give her a shout out) , rooms are clean and spacious. Great location. Would recommend.

Felt like home. I stayed outside of downtown this trip, and it was great. The room was spacious and quiet, bed was comfy and staff was great. The food in the shop was cheap! I came back late one night and it was a lifesaver. The breakfast is your typical complimentary breakfast. Fresh coffee was always available. I accidentally left something in my room and they took great care of me! There is everything you need nearby, plus no traffic. Internet was great. I will stay here again

Awesome. Very clean and bright. Employees were nice and polite, especially breakfast area. The only problem was with the mobility accessible rooms..again very clean but hotel didn’t seem to have roll in showers

This hotel deserves 0 stars. They charged my account before my stay. Then charged me a second time the day of my stay. When trying to clear up the problem with the front desk, the clerk hung up on me. They do not honor the digital key. I needed a late check in that's why I use the app and the digital key but the front desk wanted me to swipe my card at my arrival even though they have already charged me twice. NO customer service at this hotel!

Rooms were nice, and clean. My problem with this place was they charge you an incidental charge for every night you stay there, not just 1 per visit. I stayed there a week, and I checked out over a week ago and I'm still waiting to get that money back. For that reason alone, I won't stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The service, hospitality, and breakfast was an absolute 5 stars. All the staff were great but one lady named Sal really went above and beyond. She was cooking breakfast by herself yesterday morning and was obviously incredibly busy. She still managed to keep all the food trays and coffee pots full. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we go to Cincinnati.
