Crowne Plaza Cleveland at Playhouse Square by IHG

Had a great experience here and found it to be a great value for downtown Cleveland. Excellent service, thank you LaToya at checkin and all the servers in the restaurant on Easter! Hot tub and pool were great, but the bathrooms at the pool do need stronger cleaning. Tip--book nearby parking through SpotHero or another app--I paid $14 for 24 hrs at a garage 3 blocks away. So our total for parking, hotel room and breakfast (booked through Spirit/Priceline) was under $200 on a Saturday night. Very pleased.

The hotel was spotless, both the common areas and the room. The front desk was exceptional and could answer any questions we had. Both check-in and check-out front desk personnel were friendly, helpful, and efficient. We used the valet to park and he informed us of all the details, including in and out privileges, which was a great feature. We stayed in town to go to Playhouse Square, the perfect location to walk to the theatres. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend this location.

Not a great experience. When we arrived the lobby was overflowing with visitors coming in and out. Valet parking is $50 per day when there are local lots within a block that charge much less. The staff at the desk made us wait an hour to check in while they attempted to verify a credit card. The person who was supposed to be doing the verification continuously left the desk and wandered off to do other activities. The room was very small and the television had a strong blue color that could not be changed regardless of setting. When I went to check out, the front desk had charged the incorrect credit card, even through they had spent an hour the day before verifying the correct card. I would not recommend this hotel. If you go there, check your bill before you leave.

-The hotel is in a great area. Very safe and quiet during the week. - It’s clean and smells nice when you walk in. - The rooms were nice. Apotheke bath products, comfy bed, nice views. The only issues with the rooms were that the tv screen was all blue, the sheets were pilled, and the water in the shower was not warm. - the valet driver working in the mornings during the week was not very friendly and came across as rude and unprofessional. -we purchased the package with the breakfast buffet. When going to the front desk in the morning to ask where the continental breakfast was, the lady said “we don’t have continental breakfast”. To which my husband and I were confused by because we purchased the package with continental breakfast buffet. We told her that we were told at check in that we had the continental breakfast package. She said again “no we don’t have continental breakfast. You can get breakfast at the restaurant if you’d like”. After we walked away and then coming back showing her the ticket they gave us the night before, she was like, “oh it’s that way” lol. Like girl… you could have just asked us if we purchased the option with breakfast and pointed us on our way. No need to get hung up on a technicality with wording. The breakfast ended up being cold and not very good. Overall it was a fine stay. I would come back again but please remind staff that friendliness is very important when working in hospitality.

BED BUGS! Within 3 hours we found the following issues: front desk poorly staffed creating a 20 minute wait to checkin (our actual check in took about 2 minutes). This was at 4:30pm on a Friday. The phone didn't work and most of the lights didn't work. At first the room appeared clean, but the hotel overall didn't. Upon further inspection we found the room unclean and ultimately found many bed bugs! We notified the front desk of each problem as they occurred, with no help by them to fix any problem. We promptly checked out when we saw the bed bugs and had to find another property that would take us last minute during a busy weekend (thanks Marriott!). The front desk said they would give us some points to make up for it, BUT STILL CHARGED US! They charged us full price for a bed bug ridden room, and ended up not giving us points or even emailing/calling us back. I will never stay in another IHG hotel again! We are long time IHG reward members but I'll be switching after this.

We stayed two nights for baseball at Progressive field. The location is great! The rooms are more than adequate and I liove a full service hotel that includes refrigerators in the rooms. The valet parking was very efficient. Parking attendant Adam was kind, helpful, and quick to respond.

Great location right in the heart of the playhouse district. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the valet guys and the restaurant staff. The cons- no on site parking, beds are tiny, pillows are uncomfortable and toilets are way too low to the ground- like they were made for little kids.

The hotel is in a great location in Cleveland the valet makes it easy they were professional and treated my vehicle with respect they explained everything as it was my first time using valet they made me feel welcomed. The service desk ladies were amazing the gentleman that was there was quite intimidating he never smiled or greeted anyone so I was a little nervous asking questions when he was around! The cleaning crew were polite spoke little English but that didn’t matter…. We had fun the front desk greeted us every time we were in the lobby making sure we were okay and if we needed anything! I will definitely stay here again!
