NillDo not attempt to stay here. They are misleading. I booked through Capital One Travel. I received an email confirmation from Capital One with a confirmation number. My Capital One confirmation said check in is at 3:00 p.m. I was there. The place was dark and locked. I called the number on the sign. No one answered. I left a message. There wasn't a return call. I called Capital One. They tried to call the hotel. They also got no answer. After an hour of sitting in the parking lot I left and got another hotel. We could not sit there and wait. When Capital One finally got an answer two hours later the Island House said they sent me an email on the check in process. I have checked my email 4 times (yes spam, trash and inbox). I did not receive an email from the Island House. The Island House would not reimburse me. Capital One made it right. The Island House is advertising as a hotel. It is not a hotel. It rents privately owned rooms out. There is not a person to check you in or help with problems You are suppose to get an email that gives you a lock box pin to get in. This is fine if you get an email. The outside looks dumpy. I really wonder what the rooms actually look like. Lesson learned. I will definitely be more careful. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!

NillIt’s worth noting that this is NOT a traditional hotel but independently owned/operated rooms located within an aging former hotel. Rooms are VERY small. No onsite/front desk staff for any minor requests such as additional towels, etc. Our room had water stains on the ceiling, no operating bathroom fan, and a terribly uncomfortable bed that broke during our stay. (Low key middle aged couple) We emailed the owner of the unit shortly after it happened and did not receive a response/apology. (It’s been 72 hours) 0/10, would not recommend.

NillWe came in from out of town for The Burning Snowman festival. This was the second time that I've stayed in this hotel (1st time was over 2 decades ago). We were welcomed from the moment we walked through the doors. Lisa and Mark were absolutely the best and made us feel like family! I would 100% recommend anyone to stay here!

NillI'm writing this review on behalf of my parents who stayed at the Island House on 2/24/24 and had an extremely poor experience. They were frequent guests of the hotel but will not be returning due to the poor service and inferior rooms. They paid $200+ for a room which ended up being only slightly larger than a closet. The bed was marketed as a queen but was actually a full bed with a lumpy mattress. There was loud noise in the hallway all night and the fire escape door was open so it was impossible to get any sleep. When they tried to issue a complaint to a hotel, the front desk dismissed their complaints, and their follow-up phone calls were ignored.

NillJust had my first visit to the Island House. What a great old style hotel. Lisa and staff are first rate. Great location as well. Looking forward to our next stay. Keep up the good work!

★★★★★What a beautiful and unique hotel with some cool history! Dis not see any ghosts but heard some noises here and there. Its centrally located by the water and access to Put in Bay where we went. It was a very peaceful escape and very relaxing time|We had here. We had a room with a nice jacuzzi. Will definitely venture back here when the cold|Weather breaks. The staff were also friendly ans accomodating.

NillMy wife and I stayed overnight with 2 toddlers. We had a double queen room. Girls had enough room to run around with it being too tight. AC was perfect, walk in closet was a plus, beds were much more comfortable than you'd expect at an independent hotel. We really enjoyed the historical aspect of the place. Location was about 4 blocks from the park with a nice, quiet beach. Walking distance to many shops and eateries. The only drawback was the shower. While clean, the water temp was lukewarm at best. And I'm not talking at 9 AM when everyone is showering. I'm talking 9 PM. I found it refreshing. My wife, who generally prefers to shower in molten lava, was less enthusiastic.
