★★1. Location - access was thru the door in the alley. Very uncomfortable access.|2. Smelled. Musty. Old. (It appeared cleaned but did NOT smell clean). |3. Doors that obviously went to other rooms within the suite were locked from the other side. Very uncomfortable.|4. Check in desk was difficult to find - and less than desirable - photos in add are NOT an accurate representation. |5. Had to walk half a block to find our suite - only to find directions had been lacking snd we had to go around the building to the ALLEY.|6. $146. NOT WORTH THIS. |7. This place felt like a “hourly rate”.|8. We were so uncomfortable we did not even stay. ||Would NOT recommend. Very unhappy with the representation of this “hotel”. I believe ONE photo in their add was “accurate”. And can not believe $146. |I am a reasonable person. And have actually never written such a review. But truly felt a poor review is warranted. I feel strongly. Poor representation. |Would never recommend and would never stay here.

NillWe stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The building is definitely historic. All rooms are located on the third floor and there is an elevator as well as stairs. As with an old building, the elevator is also old. We used it only when moving our belongings otherwise we used the stairs. Our room had beautiful woodwork and high ceilings with a private bath, king sized bed, and sofa. It also had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, and iron. There was a couple of Folgers' coffee tea-like bags and sugar packets but no creamer. The bathroom was a single sink with a tub/shower combo. The lighting is terrible and not conducive to a close shave or applying makeup. While shampoo and conditioner are provided, the quality is lacking. The shampoo was the consistency of water. Bring your own. There was also a very small piece of soap provided sink side which does go far when staying more than one night. Bring your own body wash. The towels were of decent quality but the storage space for them is very limited. A blow dryer is also provided. It’s very small but surprisingly did the job. There is a small closet in the room but there were no hangers. That was super disappointing and clearly an oversight by the new management company. The king sized bed was okay. I’ve slept on worse and I’ve slept on better. I was surprised to find a plastic mattress cover on the bed and found the crinkling sound annoying when moving in the bed. The most alarming thing about our stay was the front door to the building NEVER being locked. Anyone could have come into the building at any time of the day. With there not being any employees managing the lobby, the few homeless people in the area could have easily walked in and up to the third floor. And there was a keyless entry lock but it wasn’t activated. The hotel is located in the Meridian District, which has a beautiful walking path and park. It’s close to downtown and walking distance to a handful of restaurants and bars. Looking forward to seeing how the new management will improve the property. As is, I’m not sure I would stay there again.

★★I was so disappointed with this hotel. We anticipated a relaxing getaway for a family reunion. Instead we were in survivor mode. This hotel was one step up from tent camping. Floors were dusty and bedding was substandard. Fitted sheets did not stay on the bed so I was sleeping on a mattress pad most of the time. There was a huge TV so that was a plus. It looked like the event center was nice also. Fortunately we spent most of our time with family at Lewis and Clark Lake.

★★★★★Fun setting, great historic pictures. We had a wonderful time! Found places our entire group could be together. Took group pictures on the bridge- thanks to our “ photographer”. Would stay there again- many wonderful memories by family members that remembered the former Fantles store, thanks for all the great times.

★★★★★Clean, large rooms with wonderful high ceilings and original woodwork. Same price as chains but with local character. Personal service. Great location. If you don't bring your own dog, there's a dog in the office who might come out for a pet and a snuggle. He stays in the office, as he is old, usually snoozing quietly.

NillOur initial thoughts upon booking were more in the realm of…”Well this will be a cool adventure to stay in a historic building! How awesome is it they accept pets?! This is right by the boutiques we wanted to go to!” Unfortunately, the management is entirely inadequate. Upon entry, all of the historic features we were previously in awe of were overshadowed by the lack of cleanliness and hodgepodge DIY work. I definitely didn’t trust that bedding was washed or dishes were actually clean, given you could see thick layers of dust on even the most easily noticed areas. The biggest misstep in management though BY FAR was the fact that we were not informed Rib Fest was the very weekend we were to stay. They knew we had four children ages 5, 3, 2, and 2 months and yet they never told us there’d be a concert going on pretty much right outside our building with single paned windows and almost non existent glazing. The walls were literally shaking! Until 12AM! So unbelievably unacceptable! When management was given the critiques they gave poor excuses, showed no remorse nor gave any inkling they’d be making any changes in the future. With that being said, I would warn you not to stay.

★★★★We loved the character and huge rooms for our events. The original woodwork and building itself was enchanting! Lots of history here. We stayed down the street in the Danforth suite and it was huge and our whole family of 12 had meals there, full kitchen and antique decor.

★We booked this suite because the Danforth wasn’t available. It was dirty and needs serious maintenance. I literally spent the first 2 hours cleaning. Every picture was covered in dust and I wrote “wash me”in the grime. I cleaned every single table top and borrowed a broom from my aunt to clean the stair well. I could have wasted my time and spoken to the manager who had clearly been drinking when I checked in. However I wasn’t going to waste my energy at 7pm. The maid never once took the trash out in the 4 days we were there. When I carried the trash out the garage bag in the kitchen was not replaced. There is clearly water damage to several ceiling tiles in the kitchen. I can’t imagine why they would spend the 58 cents per tile to replace the brown water stained ceiling. So disappointing... the bathroom is nothing short of a disaster. The pocket door is a symptom of a badly arranged layout is far cry from designer. The floor tiles dip and wave. I would never stay in this suite again. It was neglected and overpriced and the person responsible for maintenance and cleaning should be out of a job. Do not book
