Super 8 by Wyndham Athens TX

Well I didn’t expect much but I expected more than what I got. The guy smoking in front of the room let me know he lived there but it was stinking up the room. I guess he cranked the diesel up in the early am and let it idle. We couldn’t breath it was pulling in through the ac. I didn’t take a picture of the spit up or whatever was behind the headboard but I got other pictures. The one video is of the hairdryer not working. With girls having long hair I was hoping it worked. But I was also hoping a lot of other things were as well. I deleted the hairdryer video but it didn’t work.

Convenient stop on hwy 175 with a comfortable bed. Nice basic breakfast with waffles, cereal, fruit & breakfast bars. Would like to see some gluten free options for cereal though. Clean room and bathroom. Was there late and had a short stay, night clerk was friendly.

The atmosphere is not a recommendation if your trying to get a good night's rest on Friday. It's party central in the parking lot, up and down the stairs and along the front of the rooms. Some one had vomited by my car so trying to avoid that was a hassle. It's an old motel and it shows.

Our room was clean and well kept. Air conditioner worked well for us. The shower was great, hot water, water pressure and plenty of towels. Property was quiet all night. Check in was super easy and staff was friendly! This was our second stay here and I would stay again.

The rooms are clean. The beds are comfy. I slept. It's quiet. At home, I sleep with ear buds and a sleep mask. I didn't have a single issue without either while here and no noise woke me up. There is a coffee maker, tea and coffee, complimentary personal care items. The bathroom was clean. The towels were clean. There is a fridge and microwave. Continental breakfast from 6-9 am. I was pleasantly surprised. And my dogs were welcome with zero issues. They are very accommodating. Would definitely return.

Stephanie checked us in and was very nice and friendly. The room met our needs and was clean. Housekeeping freshened out room while we were out. Breakfast was better than the reviews said, with several options. Every staff person we encountered was so friendly

Positive: Nothing Negative: The room smelled bad. The tile in the bathroom shower badly needs replaced. The floor was dirty. The bedding was cheap and old.

Middle aged man receptionist refused me and my husband service. I have a 6 month old baby, we traveled from Dallas, and just wanted to stay the night in my husband’s hometown. He refused us service and did not give me a reason why. Unprofessional and discriminatory employees.
