I stayed here for just one night. While the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful (they even moved us to a different room when we asked), the overall condition of the hotel left a lot to be desired. The building is really old, and although the lobby and hallways smelled nice, the rooms had a strong, unpleasant odor that didn’t go away, even after switching rooms. The room itself wasn’t in great shape—there were several areas with peeling paint and cracks, and it just didn’t feel very clean or well-maintained. We did have hot water, which I was thankful for given the reviews saying otherwise. The hotel seems to be under renovation, but that didn’t impact our stay. It was easy to find, and the location felt safe and was convenient for what we needed. Overall, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless it’s been fully renovated.

Do not stay here. I stayed here in January from the 24-25, and have a reservation in the future. Upon arrival at this hotel, the only entrance is a small corridor off the I-35 access road, so if you miss the turn, you'll have to go all the way around. While the parking lot is spacious, the room you pay for is what you get; we had a two queen room, which is exactly that. A room with two queen beds and a restroom. The staff that night was very hospitable and provided us with what we asked for, but there's no breakfast here if you are looking for that. While it's cold, the pool was also dirty when we were looking down at it if that is a factor you consider. Here is where my main problem is: I booked the reservation through a third party for our second stay at this location. The room was apparently a non-refundable room. First off, what makes it non-refundable? Did i use it or did they set up special accommodations for me that they can't take back or something? Unfortunately, we got the flu and could not make the reservation. Prior to the reservation date, I called the hotel and asked them to allow for a cancellation and refund of the room. The person I was talking to said it was booked through a third party (Delta) and Delta would have to do it. So I called Delta, told them what happened. The Delta agent was very understanding but stated this can only work if they hotel agreed. The agent then called the hotel and told me she spoke with either Kirk or Kurt, who hung up on her on the phone when she was asking for the refund on my behalf. The agent stated she called back and spoke to Kim, who said something about their printer being busy, so they were unable to help her. The agent, now having been hung up on and is unable to talk to someone who will help with this situation will have to send them an email, and hope they will read it. I don't work in hospitality, but if this is normal business procedure and they hang up on folks or are too busy to assist, this is not a hotel I would ever book at again. This is a sour impression on all courtyard hotels for me. Stick to Hyatt or Hilton. Just to recap I even called them initially, and they said the third party would have to allow the refund. I feel like they just sent me in a circle for no reason.

This is, and has been, my go-to Austin area hotel. Perfectly located right next to the highway but set back just enough from the road to not be loud. Nearby a whole bunch of excellent food options, with a good kitchen and excellent bar in the lobby (which also has the added benefit of being quiet for residents.) Good amenities, and an excellent staff. (Also a pool that other guests like but which I've never tried take that how you will.) Room decor is a little outdated, I'm guessing coming from the late-'90s or early '00s, but the rooms are always clean and they're more spacious than you usually get at a Courtyard. Also, and this is important for me, most of the rooms still have a bathtub instead of the shower-only model that Marriott has been switching over to lately. If you're looking for a nice place that hasn't been overly modernized THIS IS IT. I will say I have status at Marriott, so maybe my view is a little skewed but the flip side is that I have felt recognized everytime I've stayed at the Courtyard and that when they have availability you will be upgraded, which is a very very nice touch. Which goes with my biggest compliment here, the staff. Everytime I've stayed here the staff have been excellent. Morrison was a front-desk manager here and when he helped me it was always prompt and forthcoming with service, which was incredible especially when I was travelling with large groups. I'm going from recollection at my most recent stay but Candice and Ashton made check-in an absolute breeze and helped me with some minor and mid-tier issues with smiles and no complaints. I also want to stress that housekeeping is above-average here. I believe the head housekeeper is Erin, I met her once and she was helpful and her team always makes the rooms feel clean. I cannot stress enough how nice it is to come back to a room that you know will simply be spotless. I strongly recommend making this your go-to hotel in the Austin area.

The rooms are definitely old, which I didn’t mind—but what really stood out was how unclean and poorly maintained everything was. Housekeeping was subpar: the beds were never properly made, and the bedsheet kept slipping off constantly. The room just didn’t feel clean. Our coffee table wasn’t stocked with tea, and when we asked, we were told they only provide coffee—and only on the first day of your stay. That was really disappointing, especially since my dad only drinks tea. They said we’d have to pay extra just for an earl grey tea bag. Not great hospitality. The lighting in the room was very dim—only two lights in total—and the atmosphere felt dark and unwelcoming. The bedrest was literally a removable block of thermocol, which was bizarre and uncomfortable. The only positive experience we had was with the kind lady on the night shift (the one with the dog)—she was lovely and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff seemed untrained and inattentive. Overall, this was easily the most uncomfortable stay I’ve had in Austin. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you truly have no other options.

Hotel was clean. Renovating part of the hotel but did not effect my stay. No complementary coffee in lobby. The website mentions coffee and tea in the rooms. There was no tea in the rooms. When I asked at the desk they were kind and asked the lady running the “Bistro “. She said I could buy a cup of hot water and a tea bag from her. No microwaves in the room. Mexican restaurant within walking distance was great! Good price and a lot of food! The front desk ladies were always very sweet.

The hotel is in a great location close to the university. The staff were all very friendly and the bartender was great at night for serving nightcaps. The hotel is older and has had a lot of mileage. The room had clean linen and towels, but hard to say if much else was cleaned. The carpet had stains and the shower had a hard time draining. Water pressure was good and the water got very hot. The bed was very comfortable with firm pillows. I had other coworkers at the hotel and one had to move to a new room because there was no hot water. There is small fitness center too for cardio and dumbbell weights.

I would prefer not to stay at this hotel again, but I probably will have to for work. Pros: Friendly desk staff, well-lit parking lot with plenty of free parking, surprising variety of good dining options in the area despite it not being downtown, and seemed safe. Cute old dog behind the front desk. Cons: Hairs of the variety you really don't like to see were in the shower and corners of the bathroom at check-in. There were small bits of gunk around common touch-points, like the toilet paper holder and the tissue holder. The complimentary mini bottle of lotion had an eyelash under the cap, so it likely had been used by the previous occupant. The room was extremely dated. The furniture was worn. The carpet outside the room had large stains of either bleach or some kind of white powder on them. The carpet inside the room was frayed and worn. The bedding was yellowed in places. After the first night, housekeeping did not vacuum my bathroom or take away my used washcloth (they did after the second night).

The entrance to the hotel was not easy to find. When I finally got here, I was placed on the second floor room 224. As I was walking to my room, you can smell the new paint aroma in the hallway. So I had to walk faster before I get a headache. When I got in my room, the light switch is only for the coffee bar, which is very very dim. As I open the window to check the view. You can see the outside AC condenser and they area loud and kept me up most of the night. My bathroom have a window and is visible from the out side. Not much of a privacy as you can see from the picture. As other people had mention, there is no hot water. The bed light is old, dusty and gloomy. The next morning, I need some strong coffee after sleeping in their old bed. The asked for a venti coffee of the day and it was lukewarm water down. If you are planning for a hotel reservation, go somewhere else. I do agree the location was convenience and the service was ok. I am not coming back to this location.
