Howard Johnson by Wyndham Galveston

It was great. Beds are comfortable, hot water with great pressure. Room is clean, beds are made. Towels are stocked. The staff was friendly. The kids didn’t complain because they had plenty of room so stay away from each other after the car ride. Would stay here again.

The room was clean, but very dated with cracks in the door seal; not tightly closed. The staff members were very polite, accommodating and attentive. The location was perfect for an overnight stay for the cruise port; but far from low to mid level luxury or long term comfort stays and was located close to a noisy freight train track that provided an unwelcoming alarm that began around 5:00AM.

Positive: Easy access off of 45, short Uber ride to cruise terminal. If you just want a cost effective good nights sleep before you start your cruise this is your hotel. I will use it from now on because you can stay fir $48 and Park for $5 a day! Negative: ""

Positive: Loved the location. We wanted to stay away from the heavy traffic along the sea wall. Negative: I was disappointed with the breakfast that was included. Other places have a full breakfast while this one only offered the bare basics such as cereal, oatmeal and muffins. Other than that our stay was awesome.

Okay so I was skeptical about this place because it isn’t one of the “nicer” hotels. That being said, I’m thoroughly impressed. The rooms aren’t 5 star but you get what you pay for. They are clean, cool and beds are comfy enough. That’s not what impressed me tho! The gentleman that works the front desk, I didn’t catch his name, was more than wonderful. Super accommodating, very polite and willing to help however he can. I’d stay here again just for his customer service. To the Owners, he deserves a raise! He alone gets 5 stars!

This property is a good place to stay before your cruise. It is close to the Galveston Cruise Terminal and has a shuttle service across the street. They allow Cruise Parking for $5 a night! Remember you are booking a room for under $100 so don’t expect the ritz, but it is clean, friendly, and helpful.

Breakfast was BS no hot only cold. They do allow you to park there $5 a day with 1 night stay. Went on a cruise and had no issues. Just make sure to pay upfront!
