NillI very rarely rate something 5 stars and this place is an exception - it was a Goldilocks glamping experience! Not too far/close from Dallas (1.5 hours), not too rustic/modern, lovely nature setting with nice hikes. Excellent staff (Jody & Angie) that prepped a separate dining area for our large group (20 people), which made it very convenient and fun!

NillFantastic stay! Came here for our honeymoon with our pup and it was the perfect stop on our road trip. Cabin was clean and they even left a little treat and some other stuff for our pup! They made it easy to find by sending a map before check-in. We would definitely stay here again!

NillIt was so relaxing—quiet and serene. Stayed in a cabin with two queen sized bunks (Katharine) during late November. Built a fire in the morning and had a cup of coffee, a couple of deer walked by. Rabbit hopped through in the evening while we were grilling steaks over the fire pit. Texting the staff for any needs (more wood, trash service) resulted in quick delivery, but cell service is spotty, so be advised. Turned the heater on one night, warmed up super quick. Helpful tips and recommendations sheet is provided in case you want to venture out to the surrounding towns for restaurants or hiking trails… Books and a radio in the cabin if you want to stay in, or if it rains. I recommend bringing in groceries to stock the mini fridge during your stay, and if you plan to make extensive use of the fire pit, as we did, extra wood bundles are $9/bundle (4 large pieces of wood). We EASILY went through two bundles a night, then enjoyed the gorgeous stars as the coals glowed. Next time I visit, I plan to bring some cast iron cookware, as the pots and pans provided are not for outdoor use.

NillDo not add firekit to reservation. Its a scam. They give 14$ worth of items for 25$. Better buy fire bundles and starter kits after you arrive. We liked the cleanliness of room and bathroom but the chairs near fire pit and table were very dirty and unclean, had to wipe them ourselves. Overall it was a good one time experience.

★★★★★My Husband, Pup and I had a lovely time at Getaway Piney woods. Very cozy and comfy and everything looks just like the photos. There are some nice short trails you can hike and the campfire is perfect. |Honestly I keep daydreaming about that big window and will gladly book another trip in the future.

NillThis is my first time being here at Postcard Cabin Piney Woods. My experience overall was great . The cabin got everything you need such as cook ware, dish soap, paper towels, trash cans ,etc…and a very clean comforting queen bed and bathroom . We was ran out of Log Bundles to light up Campfires, and I was text the team members at middle of the night and they were answering very fast. Things that I very scared about is that when we was grilling foods outside around 8-9PM. We heard something that was running in the woods, I think that is a Wild Boar that on the paper they had wrote to caution us. They got a very brightly yellow eye glowing in the darkest woods that I can see them . We was rushing run inside the cabin immediately. In the morning we went outside and saw food in the trash cans was on the porch. I think some animals was hunting for food at night. Overall it is very amazing to stayed here if you are loving nature, quiet place to unwind.

NillAfter having stayed here three times in the past four years I can safely say this is one of my favorite places for a weekend getaway or non-travel vacation in the DFW vicinity. Love being surrounded by nature and having the sense of privacy while also having all the conveniences of a hotel stay (bathroom, mini kitchen area, comfy bed with clean linens, etc). I especially love that there are several short nature trails included in the area plus a nice hilly main road so I can do easy hikes or more challenging runs/workouts without having to drive anywhere. It’s also just 40 min drive from Purtis State Park which has 8+ miles of trails and great fishing spots.
