AC Hotel Madison Downtown

I didn't stay at this hotel, however, I did order drinks at the bar on the first floor. I forgot the name of the gal who was working on New Years Eve night, but she was fantastic! Great service, good drinks, and the perfect spot to ring in the New Year!

Won’t be back. I rarely post bad reviews, but it was one issue after another at this property. Heat in the room did not work and then once “fixed” left us without any ability to adjust the temperature. One day we had no housekeeping at all even though the housekeeper was cleaning the room right next to ours and saw us when we left. Some days we were left bottled water…some days not. One day we were left a single coffee cup, to be shared I assume. Feels like there is no supervision. Cannot recommend.

**Disappointed Regular Guest** I’ve stayed at AC Hotels by Marriott four times now for business, and each time, my experience has been increasingly frustrating. Most recently, I booked a king room over a month in advance, only to arrive and be told they put me in a double queen. No explanation or apology—just a casual mention that the room I had specifically reserved was unavailable. Despite being a loyal customer, they’ve never once granted an upgrade, even though I’ve been staying here frequently for work. At this point, I feel like my loyalty doesn’t matter, and it's clear they don’t prioritize honoring reservations or rewarding repeat business. The location is convenient, but it’s hard to justify staying here again when they consistently fail to meet basic expectations. I expected better from Marriott, especially for regular customers.

Very nice hotel. Valet and the hotel are separate, which was an issue when requesting my vehicle. I never received the text I was told I would receive. I had to call down instead of texting. I was told on multiple occasions I would receive a text from the valet service. I never did. On the day of my departure, I called down once again (20 minutes early) and I still waited 21 minutes for my vehicle. When I spoke with the front desk all they said was, "there is only 1 person working valet"! There are several ways to resolve this.

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Madison’s isthmus. Parking is an effort, but the city owned garage just west of the hotel is reasonable and convenient. When we arrived, we were placed in a room with a view of a brick wall. Being Marriott Gold and also this being my first trip to Madison, I asked the front desk to help make it a nicer experience. They came through and got us a room with a view of the capital and slight views of Lake Mendota. The bar on the top floor is a must visit. Great service there too!

New hotel with comfortable rooms and amenities. Excellent location with short walking distance to main attractions in town. Public areas are excellent with lots of spots for meetings including a small library on the second floor. Rooms on the 9th floor can get noisy towards the end of the night when the bar is closing.

After a move from an extremely warm room that the air conditioning couldn’t cool (in October)… we found ourselves in room 816. This room smells as though someone is trying to fend off vampires. Garlic cloves have to hidden in drains or under mattresses. The smell along with all the loud sounds from above or beside makes it impossible to sleep. It looks pretty, but it is gross.

As a titanium member, I received a bottom floor room that faced a wall. Bathroom fixtures were broken. I couldn't turn on the lamps. Front desk didn't seem to invested in customer service. This was my fourth time at the hotel. This is how they treat loyalty.
