Stopped on a cross country trip when the weather got too hard to keep driving. It was off season, so service was limited. But what service we did receive was nothing less than great. The rooms are adorable. Definitely a wonderful experience we will remember. The story of it being haunted as well was definitely a plus in my book. Thank you!!

My husband and I had an anniversary night here in October. The night was superb! The food is absolutely excellent! Our server was very kind, funny. He makes amazing cocktails and is very knowledgeable! The hotel is special. We enjoyed sitting downstairs and looking at the hotels history, photos, and played chess! Would have enjoyed some complimentary tea in the evening. Just a small suggestion! So glad we found a night to stay in this Wyoming gem.

We stayed one night recently at The Elk Mountain Hotel on our way back to the Denver area from a trip to Yellowstone. We wanted to find a place that was not on the interstate and looked peaceful. The Elk Mountain Hotel definitely fit the bill! Sitting out on the upstairs deck was incredibly relaxing and quiet. Our room (the “Lawrence Welk Room”) was very nicely appointed and had a nice view. We had a very good dinner that night and a terrific breakfast the following morning. The restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent. It’s a tiny bit off the beaten path, which is exactly what we wanted. Highly recommended.

Fabulous place to spend the night in a beautiful out of the way location. The hotel oozes with historical significance and the furnishings reflect the period to a T. Rooms are small but comfy. Friendly responsive staff. Breakfast was great.

Such a lovely place with wonderful hospitality, perfect decor and historical info throughout, clean rooms, great sleeping beds, peaceful and pretty setting. We enjoyed checkers in the sitting room and coffee on the balcony. *****The dinner and breakfast which really were outstanding— we had schnitzel and ribeye + desserts. Service and ambiance was excellent too!

Dining room closed at 7 pm. Came in at 6:30 pm after a late arrival at the RV park across the street. The staff were so warm and accommodating and the food was absolutely outstanding. There were no corners cut in the service and the food was obviously made to order. A hidden gem with understated gourmet offerings, home-cooked portions and very reasonable prices. We were so impressed we reserved a breakfast time the next morning! Plan the small detour to experience, at minimum, the restaurant at the Elk Mountain Hotel... you will not be disappointed.

This magical historic inn is located near the base of Elk Mountain just off I-80. The town has a population of under 200 and is about as charming a little town as you will find in Wyoming. We stayed 1 night and loved every bit of our experience. Make sure to eat dinner at the hotel. The staff is delightful and the food is delicious! We live in Denver and we will most certainly be back.
