NillWe love history and decided to take a chance on a hotel under renovation. When we called for a reservation they were very upfront that work was ongoing. Kim could not have been more welcoming, sharing the history and great stories. The rooms are still being worked on and some details need to be finished. But Kim was kind enough to lend me her hair dryer and provided extra blankets. The bathroom products were high quality and the TV allowed me to access my Netflix account. All in all, I think the hotel has a great future and we will be back this fall during hunting season.

★This hotel has become the worst place to ever come visit. The staff are all very rude and have no manners. They treat locals and out of town visitors very badly. Their menu prices are outrageously priced, when before they were reasonable for their location. Before the new owners took over, people would have a place to stop to use the restroom, grab a coffee, stretch their legs, and have a friendly staff member welcome you and assist you any way they could at any time of day, and I mean any time. If you were a trucker, traveler, or a local, you could get a nice warm shower for $7. Now, you cannot. The bar used to be open until 10 p. M. On Sundays, and midnight or 2 a. M. On the rest of the days. You could order a pizza at 11 p. M. If you were hungry. Their restrooms smell like urine and feces, there is no toilet paper, no hand soap, and the toilets do not flush. The restaurant floors are disgusting, and so are the hotel rooms. Tours of the historic part of the hotel used to be available, now they tell you that the historic rooms are off limits to go and see. This place is horrible! I will never spend a dime of mine or my worst enemy's here ever again. Too bad because this used to be a nice relaxing, fun place to go now, you are lucky to catch the place open before 10 a. M. And it closes before 9 p. M. Most nights. Very sad to see such a wonderful place go to downhill very quickly. I will tell everyone I know and their friends to never waste their time on such a bad place like the historic Virginian hotel in medicine bow Wyoming.

NillWhile passing through Medicine Bow, Wyoming, I decided to stop by the Virginian Hotel and restaurant to grab my evening meal. I ordered the beef stroganoff and dinner salad with blue cheese dressing. I also ordered th hot wings for breakfast. The blue cheese dressing was phenomenal. The salad was freshly cut having a reasonable portions. The stroganoff was freshly made and also delicious. The cook and server was Kim P.. She was very polite, professional, friendly, and clean. She took great pride in her cooking skills which exude not only how she handled herself with me and other customers. Although, I do not eat out with any frequency, I definitely enjoyed my overall experience. I will return in the near future. Dr. J. (Dr. J's Drywall Paint and Tile)

NillThe upper floors/rooms of the hotel were like a blast from the past. taking me back to the older years of 1911 showing me how the rooms looked back then with a home feel! The ladies were amazing and very helpful with anything I needed along with the grill and beat putting out amazing food!! Historic hotel with a home feel I recommend

NillDrove here for lunch to see what new owners have done. Bar closed. Walked in to eating area. Not greeted or welcomed. Cranky lady gave us menus. Had dried out overcooked hamburger & house cut fries. Side salad not bad with chunks cucumber & red pepper. Silverware filthy so helped myself to new set. Sat at counter that looked into kitchen, greasy fridge door, ice tea bucket. Gross! Bummed cuz we wanted to like this place but won’t return.

NillMy wife and I just spent our anniversary at the Virginian and had a wonder night. The history of the place was fascinating. The place has been under new management for only five weeks and Kim, the manager is doing a great job. Our suite was like stepping back in time. My wife loved the old fashioned bathtub, king bed , and everything about the suite. It was like stepping back in time. We are an older couple who loves to enjoy history and I haven't seen my wife this happy in a long time. Turn the cell phone off and bask yourself in a different world. We plan on returning in the near future. For those who enjoy having a drink, the bar is filled with history and has a unique feeling of being back in the wild west. Thank you for a great time.

NillIt was an interesting stay, but unfortunately, not great. The antique suites are an interesting place to sleep. They are priced higher than similar historic hotels, plus there is about $30 in taxes added to the room rate. They are not maintained as well as other similar hotels, either. The suites need some TLC and a 20% rate cut. The dinner was bad. Don't order anything with gravy or mashed potatoes. The hamburgers looked fine. Dinner was bad enough we skipped breakfast. Eat elsewhere.
