Aurora Borealis Lodge

We booked the Aurora viewing tour with Aurora Borealis Lodge. Mok picked us up from our Fairbanks area hotel and drove us and a small group to his excellent viewing spot at Cleary Summit to view the northern lights from the comfort of the heated lodge. He had a beautiful and cozy cabin set up with jazz music, warm beverages, and cookies - his hospitality and kindness were unmatched. He taught us how to use an app to minimize our exposure outside in the cold temperatures and would let the group know when to head outside for the best opportunities to view the aurora. He was so kind and the tips he taught us to view the lights came in handy throughout our trip. We would definitely recommend booking a tour to view the lights in the comfort of the Aurora Borealis Lodge. Getting to know Mok and hear his stories were a bonus to the experience. Thanks again!

What a way to celebrate a birthday. Seeing the AB was magical. Thanks to Mok, we were able to see it twice at his warm and comfortable lodge. I can't say enough about the experience. The ride was timely, comfortable, great jazz music and we benefited from Mok's knowledge upon arriving at the lodge for the best approach to capturing images. He's a kind and considerate person whom I'll never forget for making my birthday extra special. Thank you Mok, you're the best and highly recommended!!!!I

The lodge was a wonderful experience - the viewing deck was wide and spacious with seating and had a great unobstructed view. Getting to the lodge was easy and straightforward. The lodge was warm and cozy with lots of seating to warm up with in between standing outside. Mok was a kind and knowledgeable host and offered us some guidance on how to find the northern lights on our own if we wanted to. The night we went started clear so even just stargazing was worth it, but once the lights were visible it was a fun sight.

HIGHLY recommend for a northern light tour. Mok provided transportation to & from our hotel, helped with photo settings & was extremely knowledgeable. He was very kind & pleasant and I witnessed him make a point to talk to each guest that was there that night. The viewing lodge is perfect with windows looking north & a huge deck for viewing. You’re able to see the lights from the front, back & sides of the viewing lodge too! You’re able to go in & out at your leisure to get warm, have coffee/tea/hot cocoa & sit on many of couches to relax. This was an EXTREMELY wonderful experience and recommend this tour through and through. I did not stay at their lodge, but could only fathom how breathtaking that would be. *photo taken with IPhone 12 Pro*

Our Google search last year of “the best place to see the Northern Lights” led us to the Aurora Borealis Lodge and it did not disappoint! We had the most wonderful stay at Logan’s Chalet. Mok was a perfect host- he kept us informed about when to go out to see the lights and they were spectacular! We highly recommend this place.

This was a wonderful Aurora experience. No vast driving from Fairbanks, like our previous night's tour. Mok was a wealth of information on photography as well as the Aurora. The best part was that you could go in and warm up occasionally and still see the lights from large, north facing picture windows. I totally recommend this

Went for Aurora viewing, although we couldn’t see the aurora due to the clouds, Mok was a great host. He was very nice and helpful. Mok was full of interesting tidbits and information which made the experience really pleasant. The location is v comfortable viewing for a clear night! We Met very nice people there and got ideas for other adventures too 😀

We visited the Lodge for the Aurora viewing tour from 10:30 pm to 2:00 am. Is was great to be warm inside (with cocoa and coffee) while waiting for Aurora to appear. The viewing deck outside provided a panoramic view of the sky! Mok was a wonderful host and shared links to the Aurora cameras at the University of Alaska.
